Had a great 3+ month extended stay with Obasa. They are not a hotel, instead it is an furnished executive rental apartment (though they do blur the line with the service, flexibility and little hotel soaps). Compared to other executive apartments I have stayed with, the furnishings, service, maintenance and cleanliness are much better than average.

I stayed at the Hallmark building. It is an older apartment structure, but incredibly well maintained and the common areas are exceptionally clean. The location of the building is also fantastic only 2 blocks from the river and walking distance to downtown night life. I requested a surface parking stall and it is able to fit a half ton pick-up with reasonable comfort.

The unit itself was updated, well decorated, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was clean and well stocked, although the dinnerwares were rather dated. The BBQ with propane and grill tools included was great. Bathroom was spacious and well stocked with towels. In suite laundry worked well and was much appreciated.

There is an Obasa office on the ground floor of the building. Although not a front desk like a hotel, the staff there are incredibly friendly, accommodating and take great care of their guests. During my stay I spoke with the staff a couple times for maintenance issues and they were exceptionally polite and had problems corrected the next business day.

Thank you for the review Grounded500. We appreciate your detail in our detail. Yes, to be able to have a BBQ is a real treat when staying long term. We are definitely a great alternative to a hotel and our locations are great to switch up the variety if you don;t like staying in one location but with the same company. The best compliment is referrals and thank you if you convince other people to stay with us. In Hospitality, Travis B Obasa Suites

I booked an Obasa Hallmark condo for three weeks in Jan 18 while on a business trip. I lucked out and got upgraded to the Rumley building. The suite was nearly 2000sq ft with two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a jacuzzi tub in the master bath. The suite was spotlessly clean and well appointed. Beautiful loft. Great location and a nice bit of luxury away from home.

Angie at Obasa made sure I had everything I needed and demonstrates excellence in customer service.

I would recommend this place to anyone!!

I was very disappointed with my stay at Obasa Suites in Saskatoon. I encountered a number of problems.

Firstly, there was no check-in information upon my arrival. I arrived on a Sunday and the staff "forgot" I was coming, despite having reserved weeks ahead and confirming the check-in information.

Second, on the day of my arrival, the toilet was not functioning and would not flush at all. This lasted well over 24 hours

Third, the invoice submitted at my arrival indicated a $25/night fee discrepancy. I had been over-charged by nearly $400.

Fourth, the mattress in the bedroom was terribly uncomfortable, and the couch smelled of cigarette smoke.

Lastly, I was COMPLETELY WITHOUT HEATING in the suite for FOUR days in cold winter weather, until a plumber happened to be in the building on other business and had to be flagged over for help.

Overall, I was very disappointed and expected more for $150 per night.

We were impressed with everything this condo rental had to offer!! The balcony came complete with its own working gas BBQ. The views of the river were amazing. The condo had two well sized bedrooms, complete with 2 full baths. The master bedroom had a huge walk in closet, and flat screen TV. And, the kitchen was fully appointed, and a dining room that allowed for easy entertaining of friends and family. Two couches and flat screen TV, with full surround sound system completed the living room. AND a separate laundry room, with a washer/dryer finished off the space. Add the closeness of all the best shops/restaurants of Saskatoon , and the beautiful river walks, you can't go wrong !!!!

They have a few different properties, They are all good to excellent. Better value for a long stay than any hotel (4+ days) in Saskatoon and if you are travelling with a business associate it is way cheaper than 2 hotel rooms. Has all the amenities.

If I could give Obasa no stars, I would! This company is completely dishonest! They have no compassion for customers who are staying for medical reasons and whose circumstances change.

Each agent you speak to tells you a different story on pricing and policies..... that's if they decide to answer the phone. Most of the time the phone is not answered! Terrible customer service!

We were told that we could alter our reservation plus/minus days without penalty because it was a medical stay and we had no control over the situation at the hospital. This was a complete lie! There was no understanding that the surgery was canceled and we no longer needed the suite. The agent was incredibly rude and refused to refund the days that we wouldn't be using. She claims that we did not give her 24 hours notice that we were checking out early...
Which we certainly did. Dishonesty at its finest.

Obasa charges for the entire stay in advance. This is SOOOOOO crooked! Hotels do not charge in advance of you staying in a hotel room... another dishonest policy! We definitely would not have booked the number of days that we did if we had been told upfront about their policies. The agent was pushy and forced a 5 day rental... no wonder... they have all of your money and you are the one that suffers when circumstances change.

Definitely chhose other accommodation arrangements when staying in Saskatoon. No one should deal with such a rude and dishonest company.

Hi there CMYSiorek, We really appreciate your review. Insurance claims are what sets us apart. We know that families like yours are going through a stressful and not a happy time. It is with our experience and ability to destress your stay....while it might now be like home, it's as close as you can get. Many people never want to leave some of our suites we make it that comfortable. We appreciate the review. Your friends, Obasa Suites, Travis B, Melissa, and Jag!

Negative stars for service! During my stay, one day I was without water from 6:30 am. After-hours "emergency contact" numbers got you nowhere. Leaving messages did not help and there was no way to transfer to someone in case of a true emergency.
But Obasa had maintenance people coming to my room that day and left a note, so I had a phone number for maintenance. The person I contacted there was rude and angry. I found out when I left the building, that the water main on the street was broken and under repair.
Four hours later and I had no call back. I had to speak to someone in finance just to get to a human voice, and to find out if the water would come back that day. Even though it did, we still had a boil-water advisory for the next 3 or 4 days.
It's not an acceptable excuse that your company is understaffed or you have new employees. Hire more people and train them. And fix your after-hours contact system.
I shudder to think what I would do if this was a real emergency - i.e. broken toilet, dishwasher, or heating system. Stay in a hotel instead - they have 24-hour support when things go wrong. Judging by the other reviews, things go wrong very often!

Thank you for your response mpw1971az. We do apologize about the city disrupted service with the water main break. I know the city worked as quick as they could to get the temporary service fixed. Thank you for bringing light that the phone number was routing to the wrong extension and is fixed. It is only through feedback and reviews it makes us better. We are bettering our communication by now offering SMS messaging service with our focused team to improve our services and respond within acceptable timelines as you indicated. We have strong reviews and we are proud to be a leader in the serviced and furnished suite business which makes us better then a hotel as you have space, fully stocked kitchen, downtown living, and access to many amenities that often hotel can't provide.
