This hotel was clean and well appointed in a great location. The staff are attentive, professional and responsive. The rooms really are lovely and the beds comfortable. If you are in Saskatoon this is the place to stay. Great value for money too.
The James is our go-to place in stay in Saskatoon, whether it be for business or pleasure. The rooms are beautiful, the staff are on-point, and the complimentary morning breakfast steals the show. Make sure to save time to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail in the quaint lounge. Upgrading to a river view suite — especially when during warm weather to use the balcony — is always worth it.
Let’s Start with positives first, Service was outstanding! We met Gurpreet at check in time and Kim ( I think) on Sunday Morning both agents were super friendly explained everything politely and clearly. They even opened the front doors for us which is rarely done now a days. Breakfast staff, Chef and Server ( sorry didn’t get their names) also friendly. Room was top class, clean and well maintained. Now few ares where they need improvement in my view: Pillows on the bed have seen good days and must be changed by now. Elevator had broken tiles ( see picture) and hallway 5th floor carpet was visibly dirty (see picture) lobby and hallway was small and felt cramped ( I know nothing can be done to this point) view from my room was not worth close to $200 a night. All I see AC ducts. Rooms with such view should be priced accordingly. Since I was staying for one night only it didn’t bother me a lot. This was my first time in this property. Online pictures looks grand but property is anything but grand. Breakfast was fine but it feels like having a breakfast in comfort inn or Holiday Inn where you can get room half of the price at this property. Thank you for outstanding customer service.…
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at the James. The front desk team were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and very nicely finished. The view of the river was fantastic. The breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend the James to both business travellers as well as vacationing families!
Without a doubt, one of the top 3 boutique hotels we’ve experienced! From check in until check out, our experience was top notch. The staff was great but the rooms were unbelievable! Spacious, clean, all needed amenities and patios with the best view! We can’t wait to come back.
My wife and I have stayed at The James Hotel 5 times. Kevin (Manager) and his exceptionally well-trained staff and associates go to extraordinary lengths to ensure every aspect of your stay is memorable. I recommend the the Riverview Suite!
We recently booked the James for a business gathering of our business partners from Western Canada. We decided on The James because it is unique, and it offers the 12th floor Penthouse suite for small gatherings. 45 guests attended the Penthouse reception, with room for everyone to mingle and visit. All our guests commented on the quality of the hotel, from the service to the food. A big thank you to all the staff - especially Jody! She is amazing!!
What a fantastic hotel. Stayed here while in town for business. Was not able to check in early but they took my bag and had it waiting in my room when I came back and checked in. Room was large with great natural light. Bathroom very clean, shower pressure was top notch. THE MOST COMFORTABLE BED I HAVE EVER SLEPT ON! Sheets were amazing, I usually have trouble sleeping in hotels but was asleep in minutes. Every staff member I talked to was very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel. Do yourself a favour and stay here when you are in Saskatoon.
First time we have stayed at the James Hotel and it was flawless stay. Customer service was exceptional, friendly and they went the distance. From the people at the front desk who opened the door for us several times, the maid who insisted on giving me $4 for the vending machine when I didn’t have change, ( I didn’t take it). The breakfast was excellent and the cooks and waitresses were superb. Maintenance man was super friendly and hospitable when we talked to him. Best hotel stay I have had in a very long time!
Purpose of the trip was for meetings at the Sheraton (connected). Was hoping for an early check in to change clothing before meetings started, but had to wait several hours which was inconvenient since the surrounding others did not have to wait. Inconvenient parking and difficult to find a parking spot. Did not care for the what felt like endless room key card swiping to travel within the hotel. Was not go to the connecting doors, other floors to visit colleagues or use the elevator in the Sheraton due to limited key access. No information at check in was given so missed out on hotel amenities and breakfast information. Rooms were clean and hallways were quiet. Layout of the hotel and rooms are strange. Rooms are small for the pricing. The hot water tap was scalding hot to the point of almost dangerous. Wished that there were more recycling bins throughout the building (including rooms). Location was great! Lots of restaurants and shopping surrounding. Wouldn’t say this experience was anything more than average, but better customer service would have made this experience a more positive one. Wanted to fall in love with this hotel but just couldn’t!…
