A little difficult to locate (the sign is set back from the road). Backed by another hotel and in front of a vast park along the river. We had a Studio Suite extended with fully equipped kitchen except for a dining table. It's beautiful, tastefully furnished. We were even able to benefit from free bicycles to use on the bike path along the river. Very attentive staff and always smiling. Free parking. Breakfast partially served at the table respecting the sanitary rules. Juice, coffee and eggs cooked on request. Buffet for the rest.
We got married a year ago at the James and decided to spend our first anniversary there. When we arrived there was a very nice bottle of complimentary wine and some chocolates. What a nice touch. We got a river view suite and it was very nice. Spacious and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. The view was very good. The Saskatoon Jazz festival was on so we were able to enjoy some live music as well. We had some lovely cocktails in the lounge that were interesting and yummy. The staff was excellent. The included breakfast was also very nice. The only thing that I would like to see in the rooms is a small fridge. There is a tiny fridge with a fully stocked mini bar but there really isn’t any room for other items. Thanks to everyone at The James for helping make our first anniversary a wonderful time.…
This hotel is excellent. From the very helpful staff to the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in. The room was spacious with wonderful river views. The hotel is spotlessly clean. And to top it off it comes with a complimentary breakfast which was delicious. Highly recommend
They are rated number one in Saskatoon and they deserve it!!! Beautiful views of the river, rooms and hotel is spotless, the breakfast crew are very friendly and make a delicious breakfast. Front end staff are personable and professional. I stayed for a week and can only rave about my experience. I will be telling everyone about this gem.
My husband and I have stayed here twice in the last two years; once on our wedding night and again for our first year anniversary. It is a beautiful hotel with extremely professional and knowledgeable staff. Both nights we rented a one bedroom suite and the first stay we upgraded to their “La Vie en Rose” Package. Both stays we enjoyed their complimentary breakfast in the Odessa Room. The suite was immaculately clean and a good size. We rented a river view room and were both very appreciative of the large windows in both rooms so that we could enjoy the view. The first night we stayed in September and we’re able to enjoy the view the entire stay but in March we had to close the curtains for most of the morning before check out in order to watch the television simply due to the positioning of the sun. The highlight of the suite is the bed. Our suite had a king sized bed and it was really comfortable. The sheets on the bed are amazing quality and feel super luxurious. You can purchase a set at the front desk and I absolutely would have if they didn’t only come in white. Their robes are also very comfortable. Check in went smoothly both visits and the front desk staff very quickly went above and beyond to welcome us and make the process as easy as possible. Since we only stayed one night each time, we did not have a chance to experience the housekeeping day-to-day but as stated above the cleanliness was up to parr. Both of our visits were during the COVID-19 pandemic and the hotel was in full compliance to the provincial guidelines in effect at those times. The complimentary breakfast was amazing. We had the option to either be served and eat in the Odessa Room itself or to take our breakfast back to our suite. We chose to do the later and both visits that was the only time we weren’t absolutely thrilled with the experience. I felt that when we requested to take our breakfast to our room, we were pushed to stay in the Odessa Room instead and had to insist on our decision to eat in our suite. The breakfast menu is limited but has a good variety for what is available and was slightly different each visit. The food was very delicious and was one of the things I was looking forward to the most on our second visit. The only negative opinion I have is simply that we felt that the extra cost for the “La Vie en Rose” package wasn’t worth it. The second stay we just brought our own cupcakes, chocolates and wine and it cost us less plus we didn’t like the wine the hotel provided.…
