Have stayed here many times. This is a clean well kept hotel. All though the staff has a heavy oriental accident it is never the less friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spartan but clean. Microwaves and a fridge in each room. Located immediately off #1 highway but far enough off-highway to limit vehicle noise. Many fast food outlets are within walking distance. The hotel has no laundry service and there are no self-serve public laundries we could locate in Swift Current. If travelling with family or friends I recommend you request the Safari Family Room. It has two bedrooms and a fully stocked and equipped kitchen. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

Awesome stay, great price. Room is clean however dated, has everything you need. Close to main highway. My only compliant would be that the rooms were warm during the evening and the air conditioner was not circulating the cold air properly. No bed bugs, inspected mattress areas throughly, room 5.

Quick and easy check in. Rooms were decent, solid for the value. Beds were pretty comfy. Funnily enough, one of the cheapest, yet also better hotels I stayed in for that summer's road trip. Would recommend if you're on a budget, and would stay here again.

I recently stayed at the Safari Inn while on a cross country road trip with a friend and my dog.
Now I would usually say that "You get what you pay for" but unfortunately I cannot say this is true for our particular room.

When I arrived I was greeted (if you can call it that) by a not so friendly guy behind the front desk. FYI to anyone who works on a front desk, it is rude to push a paper towards someone and say "fill this out", maybe if he had smiled I wouldn't have cared as much. Anyway I got my receipt and a key and was told I was in room 6.
**Oh thanks, you have a great night too** Whatever.

So the room itself was ok I guess? I mean it didn't smell and the sheets and towels were clean. I could have done without the dead bugs in the bathroom, the giant greasy stain on the carpet at the foot of the bed and the overall look of the carpet (in regards to it's cleanliness). Oh the light cover on the ceiling is filled with dead bugs, someone may want to get on that.

Ok so to be honest, it could have been WAY worse, it wasn't terrible, it just wasn't worth $95.00 for a night (at least not the room that I had), the other rooms may be wonderful but I cannot comment on that.
I would really only suggest someone more friendly to greet your guests and maybe a good carpet cleaning?

I wouldn't necessarily suggest this place as my #1 place to stay in Swift Current, but I wouldn't tell someone not to stay here if they asked.

On our first night in the motel was great. I was surprised at how clean this place is. The staff were friendly and so were the other guests! We stayed in a double room, our first night in the elephant room and on our return we stayed in the water buffalo room. The elephant room was very clean and smelled fresh, the buffalo room was clean but didn't smell so fresh, the air conditioner wasn't great and the toilet rocked back and forth. Both stays were very good though, excellent price, and you can't beat the cleanliness. We would stay again for sure.

Very nice front desk person and clean, quiet rooms (brick separating the rooms). Otherwise the place is aging and hasn't seen much of an update in decades. I think it's a little overrated on this site and should be priced a bit lower.

When planning our month-long trip to the West coast, we booked stays at a variety of hotels and motels in western Canada. Our final stop for the night would be in eastern Alberta or western Saskatchewan. Since we had stayed at the Safari Inn Motel in Swift Current several times in the past, I called them in early July and made a reservation for the night of August 11, 2012. When asked I informed the [person taking the reservation that we would be arriving late in the evening because we would be driving from central British Columbia. When we arrived at about 10:15 pm on the evening of August 11, 2012 after a long drive, I was told that I had no reservation and that the motel had no vacancies. Although it was easy to find an alternative site, I no longer recommend staying at the Safari Inn Motel. There seems to have been a change of management and the new focus seems to be long-term rentals to people working in the oil fields.

We were traveling with a small dog and needed a pet friendly hotel along our route. Based on the reviews we decided to take a chance. The first room we were given had apparently been smoked in. We asked for a different room and after a bit of discussion got one and it was acceptable. Relatively clean. NO frills including getting ice in little baggies at the office. A little sketchy area. I wouldn't stay here with kids.

The best things about the Safari Motel is that it is close to Highway 1, rates are low, the shower pressure is amazing, and it is surprisingly quiet. My room was far enough away from the highway that road noise was a non-issue. However, I found the pillows to be very uncomfortable as they were too large and firm for me. Therefore, my sleep quality suffered.

Not brand new but well maintained. Friendly owner. Great location. Ate at original joes just down the street. Decent road house gluten free options. Perfect for a short stop over if driving across trans Canada
