Detailed Reviews

This hotel is a dump, and for the quality, outrageously overpriced. All of the bed linens are microfiber (hot and sweaty). There is a microfiber comforter and a fleece blanket. There’s no way those items are washed between each guest. There is a loud, portable A/C unit, ducted through the wall under the window. The duct (like a dryer duct) sticks out so the curtains can’t shut out light. The curtains are not black out, so we had to take the extra blanket and put it over the curtain rod to help. The hallway in our room from the door to the bed area was extraordinarily long. There was a closet alcove there, but you could see that an electrical box had been capped off so you couldn’t see into your suitcase. The bathroom was shabby and dated. There is no towel rack. There is a small, coil-type holder which holds thin, small towels over the toilet. Neither the sink nor bathtub had a stopper. The countertop is 70’s type Formica with the recessed toilet paper holder built in. The part which used to hold a tissue box is boarded over. The light switches look filthy and aged. There is an old fashioned light bar over the sink with bare, fluorescent, mismatched, coil bulbs. I unscrewed bulbs at night so we could see to get down the hall but not be blinded when we got to the bathroom.

I came here on a business trip. I should’ve done my research about this hotel. I realized there is no air conditioning and the Wi-Fi is good only for seven days or 3000 MB after that you have to pay five dollars for every 3000 MB. The Internet service is very very poor, I had no service this morning. I couldn’t call the front desk has the phone didn’t work. I think I will be coming back to this particular hotel

I saw mixed reviews of this hotel but I thought I'd try it since you can't beat the price. We stayed 4N 5D. The staff was super accommodating. The first room we stayed in made this generator noise every couple mins so I requested to change rooms. They were happy to do so. They moved us to a larger room (2 beds) since that was all they had. It was clean and had a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, and kettle which was perfect since we bought groceries. Yes, the building is old and the appliances and furniture is older made, but, I knew coming to whitehorse I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel. I would say it is in between a motel and hotel. I've stayed in much worse.
Overall, I recommend this place cause it is close to restaurants (asahiya japanese, soo good!!) and 15 min walk max to superstore and downtown area. Also, it is a block away from the yukon river, so, everything is close.

Great hotel close to everything. After doing my research, I decided to reserve Elite for two nights. It was a short taxi ride from the airport where the Yukon taxi driver took all of our bags into the hotel..very thoughtful. The man at the reception was very friendly and was a fast check in as we booked through booking.com. he told us where to eat, where to see the sights, etc. He was very helpful. It is an older hotel with a key access to our room. The room was very spacious and included a fridge, electric kettle, coffee maker, fridge, microwave and a bathtub. It was very clean, had 2 queen size comfortable beds. Walking distance to all of White horse. The electric heat was turned off but we called reception and they immediately brought up 2 portable heaters..great service.. would recommend

Based on my last experience, I would definitely prefer to stay at Elite Hotel again. Understanding and believing some of the previous negative reviews are challenging because that was clean like a 5-star hotel. The hotel's architecture is really humble and pretty sure that my next trip will have a much better experience than the first one!

This place has had a bit of a refurb. The room was very spacious, it was clean and it also has an air conditioner. A very good room (perhaps a little overpriced).
We were on the second floor - sadly we had a clog dancing insomniacs living above us. They clomped around all night until about 3am and then started up again at about 8am. This went on for 2 nights.
Laundry was good.
Free all day parking on the street outside hotel also convenient.
This room was a solid 7/10.

Bit of a dive and doesn’t reflect price in terms of quality. Wouldn’t stay here again and wouldn’t recommend.
Building is old, unkept and needs serious upgrades. Beds are ok and adequate room but doesn’t reflect quality expected at price

This is a hotel, just that, don't expect much out of it. Very basic, and it is definitely not an "Elite" hotel. The hotel is clean, rooms are clean in general and, large. It is managed as a family hotel, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about Whitehorse. If you are just there to enjoy the city and surroundings, and not going to spend much into the hotel, for a fair price, then this is your place, however, the difference of price not that much with other hotels in the city.

My husband and I are used to staying at Marriott and Hiltons due to my line of work, however there weren't any in this town. First of all, one of the pictures here listed.... is actually the building across the street which can throw people off when they are looking for a hotel they booked in a place they have never been too. Secondly, this hotel shares an entry way with an Italian restaurant to one side and a bar to another. Besides the fact that there were drunks from the bar hanging by the doorway the majority of the night the "downtown" area didn't seem so bad. When we entered the hotel the lady I assume was the receptionist didn't even get up from her personal laptop in their back area...(we could see her) so we waited at the front desk until she came up and asked us if we needed something. We were given a list of rules to abide by, one including no visitors after 11. Wasn't a problem for us, but made me assume people bring other people in quite frequently and was wondering if it was also a by the hour hotel... I wouldn't have been surprised. The actual room was large and relatively clean. A lot of stains on the carpet and paper thin walls. I didn't take the chance to find out if their linens on the bed were clean cause I chose to strip the bed and use my own. As for price, I would have expected a little more for $111 a night, but we were tired from driving a cross country and were told we couldn't get money back from our reservation anyway. Needless to say if we ever happen to travel through this town we will do better research rather than trusting Tripadvisor!

It's clean. The rooms are huge. The people are nice. The location is right downtown. But if decor and amenities matter to you, this is not your place. (We ended up at the Best Western a couple blocks away. It didn't cost that much more.)
