Comfy beds and Sara couldn't do enough for us. We had to catch a very early flight back to the UK but Sara was up to make sure we had coffee before we went. A really kind thought. If you need advice on where to go to eat Sara had some really good suggestions and there are loads of guide books on the coffee table. It's also great to be able to meet people from other parts of the world and chat to them, which is something you don't get in a hotel. I'm hoping to visit the Yukon again next year and staying at Beez Kneez will be on the itinerary!

Flight got in after midnight but my bed was ready, with a little electric candle and my name handwritten on an envelope with instructions. Within 12 hours it was like hanging out with friends who soon became family. The beds are soft, the blankets are thick, and the hostel is situated right in downtown. Bring good energy and it will be reflected 110%.

Beez Kneez is a great place to stay and recharge your batteries while in Whitehorse. The owner, Sarah is very caring. I saw her spend 2 hours on the phone with an airline co. to change a couple's airline schedule who had difficulties understanding English. All in all a great experience.

Spent a total of 5 nights at this incredible hostel that greeted us like family and not like guests.
The hostess is amazing, helped us get around and always made sure we were all set.
If you have any debate on where to stay in Whitehorse, this is the place!

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 unfortunate nights. The dog walks all over the place and bugs you when you make food and try to eat it and his hair is everywhere. The dog made both of us sick the 3 nights we were there as the dog hair never seemed to get clean. There was dog crap on the stairs leading to our cabin and never got cleaned for 2 days! The place is amazingly filthy with a large amount of mold in the basement shower, my daughter even saw a cockroach come out of a hole in the shower stall. Needles to say we spent all of 1 minute in the shower and packed up our bag quick and literally ran out of there. We were offered a cinnamon bun on a plate that was then left on top of the dirty fridge for at least two days, the second night I saw bugs crawling on it! It was one time I was glad to be a diabetic and never ate it and you never would know how long it was there and the food was never covered. Everywhere we looked the place was dirty, it truly needs a boss to come in and ask themselves if they would want their family to stay there for a week! And then to start deeply cleaning this filthy hole. They told us we had a cabin out the back and it looked more like a converted shed and had blankets that really needed a great washing as they smelled. It was not worth the money we spent and I deeply regretted staying there the 3 nights as this was not the way I wished to enjoy the Yukon! I would never stay here again and would prefer the grass and a sleeping bag to this disgusting place. Shame on you Beez Kneez!

First I thougt, the hostel is not so bad, but after the night I recognised, that I had a lot of bites. I went to the doctor and he said that must be bed bugs. So I would never ever stay again in that hostel! Also the reservation was a little bit complicated because the people there seemed to be a little bit confused.

Response from workerbeez, Manager at Beez Kneez Bakpakers
Responded Dec 17, 2010
Dear Guests..... After 10 years of operating the Beez Kneez and tens of thousands of travellers buzzing thru our home, this summer some “unwelcome guests” made their way past our security. As with any epidemic it is common to react strongly to fear based misconceptions Finding these little buggers in a home, hotel , movie theatre , bus , etc. etc… has nothing to do with how clean it is. Finding out where and when a guest got bitten is a frustrating challenge because some people do not react to the bites and most people will need 6 hours to 6 days for bites to become visible. People on the move can cover alot of ground in a few days Because the Beez Kneez is a small home hostel staffed by approachable and compassionate Yukoners, our guests were able to confide in us. Through communication and education we ( our staff , guests and our local pest control company ) continue to work to together to seek and destroy these un welcome guests . Now it our guests turn to help us by using due dilligence before coming to see us. Keep your clothes either hung up or in your backpack not tossed on the bed or on the floor. Educate yourself on what they look like and where they like to hide. Literally...they come out of the woodwork to see you. If we all continue to work together I am sure that you, like the guest who wrote this comment will have an excellent night’s sleep at our well cared for and well loved hostel.

I highly recommend this hostel for everyone!! It's calm, relaxing, clean and safe.
First and foremost,Nancy is the best hostel owner!!
I enjoyed my trip to Whitehorse because of her.
I went there to see Northern light, but it was tooooo cloudy,so I could'nt.
But she talked me a lot, and encouraged me.
So then my trip turned to my precious memory.
Someday, I will go back there to see Northern light and to see her.

I was there, Sara, the manager, is really unpolite, surly.........I book for the dorm, she make me sleep on a destroyed sping sofa, in a common area, with a simply coutain to divide it to the aisle. I spent the night with the spring stick in my back. Impossibile to use the kitchen, she prohibits everythig and prentend me to wash the dishes and the pots with the simple hands, without using any kind of flat and soft sponge....

I stayed here for 2 nights, I found my stay quite enjoyable, the people who run the hostel are super friendly, happy to offer advice and I was even taken to a mountain so I could do a hike.

I thought the hostel was clean and tidy and had a homely feel to it, the hostel owner also has a dog, he is super friendly and doesn't bother you.

My only small criticism of the hostel is that it was a little chilly, but there are extra blankets on the bed to help you warm up.

This will be your home away from home, it has everything you need, even a friendly dog! There's bunk bed style sleeping but also private cabins if you are traveling in a group of two or more. It is best to make reservations ahead of time for these. It has a full kitchen & laundry facilities, showers & free Wi-Fi. I loved ever minute I was there.
