If you find yourself travelling in the Yukon and want a quiet, peaceful, scenic place to stay, look no further than the Sundog Retreat just north of Whitehorse. Fully equipped cottages nestle in a pine and birchtree forest. They all have decks and barbecues, and there are wonderful trails through meadows and forests. We stayed for 3 nights, were able...

This is a wonderfully relaxing cabin property 30 minutes north of Whitehorse. We stayed in the Raven's Nest, a second level 2 room above the board-room (sauna), staff quarters, and conference room/hall. The hot tub is outside, right near the entry to the building. Raven's Nest has a large king in the bedroom, a futon in living room, small kitchen...

My husband, son, and I had a wonderful experience at the Sundog Retreat while staying in the Panorama cabin. It was spacious and had all of the amenities needed for cooking meals and relaxing during our stay. I loved that it was close enough to town & sightseeing for exploring, but far away from the city lights for great views...

One of my best stays, ever! Since it is located away from the city, this place is perfect for aurora viewing, as we did. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for, as are all the facilities. We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna and everything was great. Will definitely stay here during my next visit to Whitehorse and highly...

It is a fine resort well away from the city. The hosts, Andrew and Heather were very helpful. They took attention to the fine details like providing a torch in each lodge; woollen socks etc. Apart from the well appointed lodges we love the convenience of viewing Northern Lights from the resort. They have two heated `viewing houses`` with large...

Last year we visited Whitehorse on an overnight trip with Holland America. This year we wanted a slow-paced visit to explore the area. Sundog was the perfect choice. Comfortable cabin, interesting surroundings( Fall Colours) dark nights to look for the Aurora... Very friendly and helpful Owner and staff.

This is situated well out of town in a very quiet area, with little lodges set well apart from each other in a natural setting. Our cabin,Fireweed was well appointed for a self catering holiday ,clean, spacious and well equipped. It's not ideal for an overnight stop as you would need to buy in food supplies and we arrived late at night from...

We spent four wonderful nights in The Cranberry cabin. The peace and quiet was remarkable! Andrew and Heather were super hosts - we could tell early on that they are truly nice people! Cabin was fully equipped for us to cook all of our meals; ordered a prepared meal one night from the retreat - very tasty! Loved being so...

This is a true retreat! Quiet, clean and peaceful. Very pet friendly. Staff friendly and professional. Lots of space for walks. Cabins are well spread out. If you plan to visit the hot tub often you might want to call ahead and figure out the closest cabins. There are bikes on site if you want to loan one or two....

While I have to cut Whitehorse some slack for its remote location, the fact is that most of the lodging options are pretty poor. Offerings in town are generally soulless, shabby and overpriced. For better or worse, hotels in town also tend to cater to large tour groups. If you are looking for a different sort of option, the Sundog...
