Loved it here. Art Deco rooms, bar and restaurant. Room was a good size, and very clean. Bathroom spotless with ample hot water and power in shower. All staff, welcoming, helpful and friendly. For £69.00 per night, with an excellent breakfast it was great value too. Booked again later in April. I ate in the bar both nights, food &...

Booked by phone, saving the hotel the 15% Booking.com commission. As a repeat customer I was OFFERED the corporate rate, which I accepted. On arrival I was disappointed to find that the restaurant was closed Sunday evening. Room is basic, but adequate. TV is so small, its lost on the wall. No power outlets at bed head. Traffic noise IS...

Booked here by CABE before board meeting. The hotel reception is in the old officers mess of the Base and has maintained its Art Deco style. This had been added to by the conversion and the attention to detail is very good. Propellor shaped clamps on the external screens, 1930's style signage and the fountain looking like a squadron of...

The hotel itself is pretty nice even if the outside looks a little weathered and the staff were ok apart from when you arrive later and you can't find them anywhere. After a by it of hunting you can find them sat right at the back of the restaurant on their phone. I know it's not under the hotels control...

I stayed at the Aviator whilst travelling on business and decided to have a change from my usual choice of hotel. I'm very glad I did. What a fantastic little find. The hotel is beautifully quirky and the staff are very welcoming. Whilst not the most luxurious hotel it has everything you need and the art deco style is a...

Stayed at the Aviator Hotel as we were attending a function in Hanger 1. The evening event was excellent, great food and 80s band. The room was clean and quiet. We would stay here again. The car park was full when we arrived, some lighting would help navigate the tight parking area. The only let down was breakfast - the...

Went for lunch with friends. The place is an archetypal deco building and internally it's either still in original condition or has been very sympathetically renovated; including period style furniture. It's a charming place. The lunch menu is simpler than the dinner menu; more pub-grub than fine dining. But it's well done. I had ham egg and chips - the...

We did not stay at the hotel, but we did meet family for Sunday lunch in the restaurant. I can only say that lunch was not great. The beef was over cooked as I like my beef rare and I was not asked how I like it. The potatoes tasted as though they were frozen and the veg was just...

We stayed here because my husband was having a Virtual Aerospace experience. This lovely hotel with it's beautiful art nouveau decor and aviation memorabilia exceeded expectations. The fact that we were entertained for two afternoons by The Blades aerobatic display team on the adjacent aerodrome was the icing on the cake! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who...

My partner and I stayed at the Aviator on a Saturday, primarily because we were attending a club meeting being held there. This aviation-themed hotel itself is full of character, having a 1930s Art Deco theme, with many displays of aviation memorabilia in the main reception area and bar. Even the building itself is unusual and photogenic. Sadly though our...
