My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend retreat at the Gasthof Prankl. The host family were very gracious and made us feel like we were part of their family. Our room was very clean, modernized, large, and had a superb view of the valley area. We had a great night's rest and enjoyed a superb breakfast with another couple...

The guesthouse has an excellent restaurant, although I feel it rests somewhat on its reputation. We enjoyed the schnitzel and p belly with a couple of glasses of the local white, but I've had better in the neighbourhood.

Spent only one night with our kids. We had an Familie room with views to the Danube and on the other side to the old castle of Spitz. Rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was great. I'm sure that having dinner would have been a great experiance, but we had no opportunity to taste it.

Poor menu- only ONE fish platter (variation) at high price no whole fish, mainly pork dishes wine expensive but friendly staff. However does not compensate limited food and high prices. Sitting outside quite nice.

I stoped just for lunch- the first nice restaurant I saw ater dissembarking and I was not dissapointed! (Local) fish was great and I loved apricot dessert. I should try some wines but I prefered beer. Even the nonalcoholic tap beer was really refreshing. Spitz is a nice place to spend a few hours. Make a visit of Danube boats...

We ended up here because it was the off-season and most hotels in Durnstein, our first choice for location, were still closed in March (April/Easter seems to be the start). A Durnstein hotelier recommended we try this place. We had a room facing the Danube (as all rooms here do). We loved the antiques in the room and it was...

We stayed here a couple of nights. The first evening we got in later than planned and were tired, so we ate in. We liked it so much, especially the wine choices, that we had our evening meal there again the 2nd night. This place aside, Spitz seems a bit quiet... not like Duernstein which is more vibrant The intervening...

This is for the restaurant only (we didn't stay here). Since we dropped in at lunch and sat outside in a casual setting, our expectations were delightfully exceeded with an amazing meal that was expertly prepared, presented and served. Service was very helpful and prompt. I had the best Zander I have ever eaten (and I've had it many times...
