We didn't book beforehand, just popped up at the door. The owner welcomed us with open arms and showed us to our room. The air-con was welcomed as it was very hot. The room had everything we needed. Outside the door was a bench where we sat until late at night.

We stayed here on the first night of a road trip from Cape Town to Namibia. It was an oasis after a long day on the road with a very friendly welcome and clean, comfortable room. We had an excellent supper in the restaurant and a wonderful breakfast the next morning (breakfast was included in the price of the room)....

Lovely place to stay when in Calvinia. Comfortable and a clean place. The rooms are equipped with everything you need. With very friendly owners that welcomes you. At the guest house is the best restaurant that you would find in Calvinia with lovely homemade goodies. Would definitely be staying here again!

This was our second year to book in at this beautiful guesthouse. As a family of 5 (3 girls) I always struggle to get a real FAMILY ROOM! Well - Die Blou Nartjie has perfected it! It is always special, the rooms are 5 star quality and the owners are people of the heart. This guesthouse is like an oasis...

We stayed over for one night on our way north. What a delightful place. Our room was big, two double beds, aircon, small fridge, and a very clean and modern bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and we could not fault the place at all. We had dinner here as well which was excellent. Reasonably priced food, nice and typical...

This venue offers an affordable overnight stop. Rooms are clean. The side restaurant offers quick and hearty meals. The staff make the stay relaxed and there is no fussing and requests are easily handled. Hospitality is typically Karoo wide open arms and smiles.

A quaint and unexpectedly efficient stay over venue in the center of the Karoo for singles, couples and families alike. I booked with one day notice and the extremely helpful owner went out of his way to take the booking and assure me of all the amenities. The main house is an historic house, an example of how the rich...

We had originally booked into the Hotel, but when we drove past it decided against it as it looked very run down. We drove down the road to Die Blou Nartjie and managed to get a last minute booking. Very friendly staff and decent restaurant. The bed was small and not that comfortable, the bath shower was awkward and the...

Blou Nartjie is a perfect overnight stop between Cape Town and the Orange river / Kgalagadi area. Housed in a fascinating historical building which was once a synagogue, the rooms are situated in the outbuildings and are comfy and well equipped. An added bonus is onsite parking right outside the room - which is perfect for campers loaded with gear....
