Detailed Reviews
We arrived late at night after a 16 hour drive to Perth. Carmen could not have been more welcoming..like a friend you haven't seen for a while Carmen was warm and accommodating. We had our dog with us who has some issues due to his previous life. Carmen had another person staying who had a dog, she took the time to explain our dog's challenges and we were then able to support each other by ensuring the other dog was either inside or outside when we came out of our room. Carmen offered us the room with the ensuite as there was two of us, luggage and the dog. This room has a bit more room. In the morning we walked our dog a tree the park nearby, a beautiful park one street over with play equipment and a lake. So serene in suburbia! We also had booked the breakfast, we had a lovely Spanish omelette, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt and a hash brown. Carmen does her absolute best to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. The only items to note is that it is a shared home so if the rooms are all booked you will either be sharing a bathroom or common areas. For us this the beauty of BnBs, you meet other likeminded travellers, but it's not for everyone. Rooms are comfortable, food tasty, location incredibly convenient, walking distance to Whitfords shopping centre, short drive to the beach, park around the corner and off street parking. We will be staying again.

I have stayed multiple times at The Spanish Lodge in Perth and each time the host Carmen remembers me and makes me feel like family. I always have my room waiting and I have just the right mixture of attentiveness and personal space.
I’m happy to have come again & next time I’m in Perth I’ll definitely be staying again! 😊

I’ve stayed at the Spanish Lodge so often that it’s almost a second home! I certainly know what to expect and the host, Carmen, never disappoints. She always takes a personal interest in my work & family. I’ve stayed here with my kids & alone in the past. This time I had a weeks work that was offered to me at the last minute.
Carmen was able to manoeuvre a few things so I could stay in the same room for the whole week although it would have been fine if I had to move. That is the kind of extra effort she does to ensure her guests don’t have to concern themselves with anything except their holiday plans or work movements. In my case it was both bc each time I am in Perth, I do enjoy travelling to Rottnest Island to do some fishing as well as enjoy a lunch or dinner at the Scarborough Beach Hotel, a resort just south of Hilary’s Boat Harbour where the ferry to Rottnest leaves from.
I was able to fit these activities around my work that week and although I was certainly tired by the end, as always I was happy to have been in Perth again, as well as the Lodge.
Carmen knows I do like my hot drinking chocolate on a winters night and a chat before turning in.
Spanish Lodge is a fine place to stay, winter or summer with cool furnishings and character throughout.
As always I’m looking forward to my next visit, maybe holiday mode only next time!

+1
What an enjoyable stay! The room I had was spacious, beautifully decorated and had an airconditioner that worked and was quiet. The home was a real getaway for me with an amazing outdoor area visited by many native birds each day. The lounge area was very comfortable and peaceful, and I really enjoyed using this area too.
Carmen provided a well stocked fridge and pantry of basics, such as teas, coffee, milk, bread, cereals, etc, for guests to use as needed. Guests could also use the cooking facilities in the kitchen.
The bathroom and toilet were clean, and a variety of toiletries were available, with clean towels provided.
Carmen has a lovely home and garden that is very welcoming. Her home is full of beautiful art which made my stay even more memorable. I found her easy to get along with and friendly to chat to. I will definitely be coming back to stay!

Carmen was wonderful and helped in any way she could.
We travelled with 4 adults and 1 large dog and could not have picked a better place.
While we drove around joondalup to our many appointments and what not, our pet rottweiller stayed with Carmen and was spoilt rotten. The overall vibe was peacefull and happy.
Rooms were beautiful and had the homey feel to them.

We loved our stay here. The rooms are very well maintained and comfortable. Our host Carmen was extremely helpful and nothing was a problem. The location is perfect, close to the shopping centre, and the beach.
We will definitely be back.

I had the good fortune to find this lovely place in the suburb of Hillarys near the beach some years back.
This time my family and I stayed for a week. We were impressed with the attention and wonderful hospitality that Carmen the host gave us including child sitting while my wife and I quickly went to the supermarket.
We were able to use the kitchen and the complimentary coffee with snacks for us were appreciated.
We will certainly return with our kids & dog☺️🐶

From the start we where very disappointed. The lady who greeted us at the door was rude. On entry the house smelt. We where shown to a room. A room with a private bathroom was booked. However we where them informed she wanted to Chatham extra $15 for it. After discussions owner agreed to honour booking. Bathroom hadn’t been cleaned as there was hair over the floor in the bathroom. Owner didn’t like that we wanted to put something into the fridge comment was “I hope you don’t want to put in too much”. Felt very unwelcome.
