We stayed here for one night at the start of our holiday and returned for two nights at the end. We had a warm, friendly welcome and were made to feel part of the family. Although there were limitations with language this was not a problem and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and felt it was good value for money. The rooms were very clean and comfortable complete with an electric fan to help cope with the high temperatures during our stay. We chose to have dinner each night and that was a wise choice! The food was excellent and plentiful - we ate at a large table with other guests, the owners and their family members - a delightful experience. Breakfast each morning was plentiful and offered a wide choice - my husband had omelette and ham in addition to the expected pastries etc. La Bergerie is a beautiful old building in a peaceful setting with a lovely, large garden and patio area. It is ideally located for visiting Chambord and the chateau. Should we return to the area, we would have no hesitation in staying at La Bergerie.

Found this Hotel/Restaurant on Booking.com and it was located on our route back to Paris from the South of France. It sounded interesting and unique. It turned out to be fairly rural but easy to find. The owners live on the premises and are lovely. We speak very very little French and they speak about the same amount of English but we had no communication problems. We had dinner with them the three nights we spent there. And dinner was a 3 or 4 course experience, with a lot of the food being made on the premises. Delicious. We fell in love with their dogs, 3 small Jack Russell's (hi Luka, shusett and Tosca) and 3 large hunting dogs. It was a great experience and we would certainly return should we be in that area again. I would highly recommend La Bergerie as a hotel and as a restaurant!

Delightful small auberge, with very clean well appointed bedrooms. Very welcoming hosts speak a little English and can provide an evening meal on request. We had an excellent evening eating, drinking and chatting to other guests and the family in the pretty setting of an old sheep barn.
