As others have mentioned this is an older rustic building and it was just what I was looking for. I stayed here last week while attending the Denman Island Writers Fest which was a fantastic experience and it was a wonderfully homey spot to return to each night and the next morning to wake up to the freshly brewed coffee...

We had been travelling from Hornby Island back to Comox and stopped by the intriguingly colored bistro. The hosts were wonderful and the we spent quite a few hours touring the property and eating and drinking in the bistro. There was an art opening that evening and some guitar playing into the night. The locals were kind and we ended...

We stayed at the Guesthouse for two months, working on the property in exchange for a room and we really enjoyed our time there. The atmosphere in the fall months was quite cozy, more like a home shared with fellow travelers than a hostel. Donna and Sheldon, the owners, really made us feel comfortable and right at home. Staff in...

I went to the bistro with a friend and had a very good meal. The place was so nice that we decided to stay for a night in the tower room. Everyone was so nice and it was really affordable and chill. I would recommand that place to everyone and had a wonderful time there !

We stayed for three nights in early September with two children and found the guesthouse very comfortable. Our room was a bit warm on the hot days but we had a good fan and could open the windows (there were screens). The shower was hot and clean. We were given clean linens and towels and our room had a pleasant...

Was in the Bistro. Perfect! Music 8 - late. Gotta love it. Light fare. Catchy shiny things for sale. Gound coffee and 'real' iced tea. Outdoor sitting area. Overall, bery friendly & quaint. The Bistro is located just after you get off the Denman Island ferry. This is a place where I think writers could cast a story of adventure,...

I had such a nice time there! Cozy rooms, nice atmosphere, music and good food...what else do you need? The owner of the place is very helpful and gives great advices about how to get around the island. And of course, you have to stop by Hornby island!!

Have not had food from here, but bought some coffee beans that said Peru, made the best cup of coffee at home. Local hub, hangout from my observations. Friendly people, always busy but of course there are not too too many places on Denman. Love Denman Island, the island itself is beautiful and offers many different beaches, parks, trails, lakes....

the menu is very interesting here, lots of little secrets, breakfast ALL DAY! they have good burgers and wraps, a little pricey but for a large quality meal its the right value. they do sometimes use a lot of garlic, a little too much for me but I'm sure just right for you.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to the Denman Guesthouse at the earthclubfactory. We operate a guesthouse that is run in the spirit of a hostel. This 100 year property has had a complete redevelopment sewer, septic, roof, foundation, electrical. The water is filtered 2ce and runs throw a UV system and is tested monthly for the Bistro. It has some odour, typical of this area, but blame mother earth. We have slowly been fixing the fundamentals but it remains in the character it was 100 years ago. The Earth Club Factory guiding principles are biodegradable, sustainable appropriate technology , organics. To a certain degree we incorporate this into our business, and always strive to do more. The Bistro is a great place to enjoy our home roasted coffee, yes done on 2 special BBQS. Simple affordable food, numerous music event, country views, lots or deer and peace and quiet. ... more   less
