We had an evening meal here on our c2c walking trip and the pub had just reopened with new owners. Half the village seemed to be in there, all eating dinner and eager to say how much of an improvement it was. The atmosphere was great, a really friendly local pub, with plenty of c2c'ers in there too. The food...

We stopped at the Blue Bell Inn on a wet Saturday afternoon, the pub has had a great revamp ,but still retains the soul of the original! We ordered a prawn sandwich & cheese and tomato, both came on really tasty brown bread, with ample fillings, very tasty,a good mixed salad and posh crisps, very good value at £ 4.00 each. The...

Had dinner here on our Coast to Coast trip. We had not booked in advance and they were happy to accommodate our group. We had delicious food in a lovely pub environment. The new owners seem to be making a great start. Would highly recommend. Easy walk from our accommodation.

My partner and I had a lovely meal here on our recent Coast to Coast walk. Everything was freshly prepared, with good portion sizes and delicious tastes. We both had 3 courses and a drink and the bill was less than £40 -so great value for money as well.

Just had a lovely meal at very reasonable cost. Well cooked steak and good sized portions. Pleased to be able to tell walkers on the way home that there was a good pub restaurant down the hill. Well done to the new owners, we wish them well for the future and hope that locals and visitors support them.

The Blue Bell has been desperate to move with the times and for some TLC for many years now. Finally on Friday night the new owners opened the doors to the eagerly awaiting villagers and coast to coasters. It was more than just a reopening it was a chance for the village to show their support, and a chance for...

The blue bell Inn itself is a lovely building and a very enjoyable place to spend the evening. The accommodation however was a separate building and was only average. The rooms were small and very basic. They served a purpose but nothing more. worth checking out if you are on the Coast to Coast but there there may be better...

Booked this place over the phone months in advance for my second coast to coast walk. I stopped here in 2012 and it was OK, but 2015 it was shocking. I emailed the hotel about 3 weeks before we were due to arrive with a question and 6 weeks later still had no answer. I thought ok, maybe they are...

Thank you for leaving a review, we apologise again that we could not accommodate you on this occasion but understand you were satisfied with the nearby alternative.Regretably this was an evening where we were suffering a 50% staff shortage at the last moment resulting in having to work with the resources that remained. The teenage children you mention are our...

My sister and I had a lovely meal here. The waitress was lovely, very pleasant and helpful. Just need to check the opening times I think. We were told 5 pm on a Saturday, by a local but in fact it was 6pm.
