This hotel is comfortable and has a beautiful beach. This is really a place for locals and repeat customers, but I truly felt that I was in Italy here. We arrived on "Calabria night" and enjoyed a 4-course meal with wine (they make their own). We enjoyed 3 other dinners there, and found them to be quite good and inexpensive. The food reminded me of my grandmother’s. The rooms are not fancy and the shower stall is small. It is near the train and you can hear it from the back rooms, as you can hear people in the halls. There was a singer for the 4 nights we were there and he was quite good. We enjoyed our stay and I wish that we could have stayed longer to enjoy the beach more. Great place for families.

We just came from another 4 star hotel and it was just way better than this one. The location is perfect though. You have the beach just in front of you and you fall asleep to the sound of the vawes. The staff is very friendly, but the standard of the hotel is maximum 3 stars. The rooms are small and the shower even smaller. But we had a very large balcony overlooking the ocean and the beach. The breakfast is very simple only with cold food. The pool area is small but just next to the beach. Unfortunately there's a lot of plastic rubbish on the beach. They said they are cleaning it every morning - but they didn't when we where there. A good place to stay a night or two but I wouldn't stay here for a whole week. On the other hand they have a couple here who has been coming here every year for 40 years so...

Found this hotel by chance driving back to the Amalfi coast after visiting Tropea. We found this part of Italy far less appealing than further north. That said, this hotel was a wonderful oasis and a great place to spend a week of lazing on the nice beach that is right on the hotels doorstep. Lovely pool area , bar and terrace overlooking the beach (where breakfast is served)is a great place for drinks of an evening. Great service, good breakfast and car parking provided. Highly recommended.

We did not have a reservation but took a break on our drive down to Sicily to enjoy an afternoon at the beach. As it was out of season a lot of places were closed but the Poseidon was open. We were very lucky to come across this little oasis. We got a good rate for a beautiful, spacious room with a view of the pool/ ocean. We went to the beach and we were virtually the only ones there and it was gorgeous. The beach is sandy unlike a lot of the rocky variety on the Italian coast and the water was crystal clear. The staff at the hotel were very nice and accommodating. We were disappointed with the restaurant. I had seen very good reviews about the food so expected a nice meal but I think that the regular chef must have not been on because the food was poor, and it was a flat price which ended up being quite expensive for what we got. Overall a really nice place to spend a few days at the beach.
