After too long of an absence, we just returned from another splendid visit to The Pickled Onion! We hadn't realized just how long it had been since we were last there but were reminded why we love with it. Brought some friends with us for their first stay and it was "love at first sight" as well! The place has...

We chose to stay in Santa Elena for a couple of nights to visit Uxmal and some of the other near by sites. The Pickled Onion is perfectly situated to visit the sites, beat all the crowds and see them at your leisure. However the real treat for us was the Pickled Onion itself. Valerie and her staff were the...

I was worried about staying here because there is not any air conditioning but was pleasantly surprised how nice it was to sleep. Wonderful breakfast and I will really recommend the Chaya for lunch. Sun dried tomatoes and feta mixed with cooked Chaya on tortillas. Delicious!

Stumbled across this most amazing place by accident. Bumped into a another couple while visiting the small town of Santa Elena. We had the most amazing time at the Pickled Onion. It was recommended by friends and we couldn't be more thankful. Mrs. Valerie, the owner, treated us like family and made us feel most welcome. The B&B employees were wonderful and always ready to make us feel welcome. The native plants which she has planted and preserved and that surround...

The Pickled Onion transmits relax at first sight. The cabanas are simple on the outside, but well designed in the inside, clean, functional and with comfy beds (and extra amaca)! Despite a very hot period, I didn't felt the lack of the A/C. The owner makes her part to help you enjoy your staying. Perfectly located close to Uxmal, but...
