Very nice stay. You need a car to get there (as most of the places in Yucatan). Nice rooms and great food. We had a massage which was just wonderful. Small pool. Very helpful staff. We recommend it if you go to see the ruins in Uxmal.

Great place to stay and Valerie the owner makes everyone feel welcome. The casitas are wonderfully appointed, there's a small pool that's quite refreshing after a day of climbing Mayan ruins and a wonderful breakfast to start the day. We ended our days in the restaurant, featuring wonderful food and great margaritas. It's the perfect place to stay if you're...

We live about 90-minutes from this gem of a place, but have just never managed to get here. At last we were able to visit and were not disappointed. Valerie knows how to run a great hotel, with lots of nice touches that you would not expect in the jungle. Very peaceful, wonderfully maintained, and great food. If you are...

The Pickled Onion is a friendly, rustic inn run by Valerie, an indomitable English lady. It offers a jungle-like experience with accommodation in a number of rondavels dotted about the lush tropical vegetation. Our rondavel was well equipped with two double beds with mosquito nets, hanging space, a small safe (for which there is a 500 peso returnable deposit for...

Nice rooms, everything (rooms, restaurant, garden, swimmingpool) very well maintained. Lunch and dinner were very good and breakfast (huge platter of fresh fruits, bread, coffee etc) was above expectation. Valerie is a very welcoming host. The place has a warm, cozy and homy feeling. Also taking into account the price/value, this one deserves no doubt 5 dots/stars. As far as...
