Detailed Reviews
We arrived, expecting to find a quaint resort, instead were greeted by the sign that said "Copper Valley Motor Inn". When we approached the male staff member to be sure we were in the correct place, he greeted us with "well, you didn't book Whistler. We're rebranding". I felt misled and disappointed. It was not as advertised.
The rooms were quite dated. The carpets had bare spots, the beds were very hard, the windows lacked screens. There was no air conditioning, and the TV display was orange and fuzzy.
Overall the room was clean, but bare bones with dated furnishings.

A cheap motel, a step up from a cabin or camping, it is showing its age, and the obvious, overdue need for renovation and upgrade.
The neon sign proclaiming "world famous chinese restaurant" is laughable, and the restaurant service and food was very poor.
Sad but true, after ordering two different breakfasts, one with bacon, one with sausage, when the owner delivered wrong order to each of us, instead of switching the plates, he picked up the bacon with his hand (in his closed palm no less!) And put it on the other plate. He saw nothing wrong with that. He also thought it was Monday (it was Saturday). It took three requests to get milk.
Oh and we were the only guests in the restaurant... not one other.....

This complex is in a copper mine town so the complex reflects the 50% occupancy of construction worker type accommodations - basic and in need of serious remodel. We were two guys on a motorcycle trip and the mid $80 price for two queens fit the budget. It was around 85 degrees F when we pulled in to town and the rooms in this place do NOT have AC ....but... luckily this is at about 3500ft altitude so when the sun went down it cooled down fairly quickly. The beds were firm and worked ok. The room was sort of clean but in serious need of repair and upgrade. The toiled wiggled from side to side about 5-6 inches. The ceiling above the bathtub/shower is ready to fall in. The carpet is really old. The fan in the bathroom did not work - it hummed only - luckily it did not catch on fire. The room did not have a hair dryer. The bathroom itself is very very small - the sink is outside of the bathroom. The flatscreen tv looked new but it was probably on a 16" diagonal when a 32" would have been more appropriate for the area it had to fill and to see across the room. The courtyard inside all the rooms has nice green grass and the fronts of three sides of the courtyard rooms looks nice but the fourth side is littered with junk - literally. We did eat the Saturday night Chinese buffet at the onsite restaurant and it was pretty good. We met the very sociable owner and had a nice chat with him. This place needs major work but works in a pinch. This is not the place for a romantic getaway but works for construction workers and guys on a bike trip who are tired and need a place to crash.

It was clean and the lady at the front desk was friendly but still very disappointed, Can't believe this is the #1 place to stay in town? Had dinner in the restaurant which was adequate, the waitress didn't know what kind of beer they served so I asked if the had a Canadian which when I finally got, was warm! There was no AC, the water pipes howled every time someone ran water, terrible beds and really cheap pillows, topped off by a dinky12" TV and no coffee in the morning, two thumbs down.

I'm sure this location was thriving at one time however it's just as tired as its owners. The restaurant is completely closed and the Copper Valley Motel on the same property needs some tender loving care. As helpful as the owner was in attempting to make sure we had Wi-Fi and a TV that was connected to a working cable, he put us off when he started to use his Passkey to randomly open other rooms occupied by guests. We observed at least four times that he did this. At this point we decided it wasn't a safe place to stay. the only time I would stay here if I were desperate and didn't need any amenities because even the room was musty and smelly.

I have never, EVER, been treated so poorly by a business in my lifetime. We have lived in Logan Lake for over 20 years and have ordered Chinese food from the Copper often. The food is usually okay but very inconsistent – not bad some days, not good other days. For the last couple of years, we often have the food delivered and tip the driver. Other times, we go pick it up at the restaurant and they offer a 10% discount if you pay cash. Last night, I phoned for delivery and was told by the guy who runs the hotel that they wouldn’t deliver that night so my husband went down to pick it up instead. When he got home, I asked if he received the 10% discount and he said ‘no’, and that he never thought of it at the time. The bill didn’t even have any prices on it, nor did it specify any taxes so i don’t think it was even a bill, just a list for the original order. That, and the fact that they ‘say’ they are offering 10% off for cash, makes me wonder if they are claiming it.
I called him to ask why we didn’t receive the 10% discount and he advised me that they don’t offer it anymore. I told him that the takeout menu I ordered from says that they do. He advised me that i must have an old menu and then he went on and on about how bad business was and how hard it is to be in business these days. I didn’t want to hear about it, I wanted to get off the phone and go eat the food. I only called him to ask about it and was fine with his explanation that they no longer offered the 10% off but I didn’t want to be rude so I listened to him ramble for awhile before I could find a way to get off the phone.
A few minutes later, I took the menu that he had included in the bag and was about to replace it in my drawer for the old one, and then I noticed that this new one ALSO offered 10% off. I decided to let him know that he was still giving out old menus, figuring I could save him some confusion in the future. I got as far as saying, “The menu you placed in our bag of food says that you offer the 10% ......” and he started screaming and swearing into the phone. I tried to tell him that I wasn’t complaining, that I was only informing him of the menu but he wouldn’t stop screaming and he yelled at me to go to another (expletive) business if I wasn’t happy. He wouldn’t stop yelling at me, and he wouldn’t listen to anything I had to say so I finally told him, “No wonder business is so poor for you”, which I’m sure he didn’t even hear over his screaming, and then I hung up.
Needless to say, I will never buy anything from them again. I was mortified.

When I made reservations, I was quoted $69 per night, plus $10 for the dog. I ended up being charged $79 a night, plus $10 for an extra person (what?) and $10 for the dog. This turned out to be over $110 per night including taxes. This hotel is not even comparable to a Motel 6. I realize they have a lot of mining business, so they are not worried about overcharging.
Our room did not have air conditioning in +90 degree heat. The fan in the bathroom did not work and our room was not made up on the second night of our three-night stay.
In Logan Lake itself, everything shuts down at 9:00. You cannot get a meal at the hotel after 8:00 and every restaurant in town (including the pubs) shuts down at 9:00. This town is not catering at all to tourists.
On our next visit, we will look at staying in Merritt.

I stayed there last week for one night. I have only given three stars solely because the motel is currently up for sale by the present retiring Owning couple and the restaurant and pub was no longer open. However, I was very happy with the room which was very clean and had all the amenities that I needed and all worked - certainly no evidence of cutting costs in that area. Maintenance was up to date. Some people might find the painted floor not to their taste but I would say much cleaner and more hygienic than a carpet, especially since this is a mining town. I will certainly stay there again next time in Logan Lake.

We stayed here for one night in August 2015. We’re a family of 4 with kids aged 3 & 5. I’d read reviews prior to arriving and I guess everything comes down to expectation.
If you’re expecting the consistency and standards of a major chain then it’s unlikely to be the place for you, and neither is it if you really do expect a ‘resort’. However, if you’re looking for somewhere that’s reasonably valued, friendly and functional, then it’s fine. I don’t think I’d want to stay there for a long trip but would certainly be happy to use it as a base again for a couple of nights at a time.
In contrast to some previous reviews, we had soap (and shampoo), the fridge worked fine, we used their wifi, and they delivered a fan to our room without us asking for it. Yes the room was a little dark and tired, and the plumbing wasn’t the quietest, but it wasn’t to a level that would make it a problem. Although there wasn’t a carpet on the floor it actually made sense for us as we were there when the weather was very wet. With the room doors opening direct to the outside we’d have ended up with a sodden carpet after coming in and out of the wet so many times. Also, a fair proportion of their clientele clearly work outdoors - so it isn’t that surprising they’ve decided not to put carpets down.
The overriding factor for us was the friendliness of the staff. We had direct contact with at least 5 of them, the restaurant and reception included. We were charged exactly as the booking suggested, when we thought there was a problem with a light in the room they dealt with it straight away, they were very accommodating for the kids in the restaurant, and they let us borrow utensils to feed the kids with as we had an early start the next day. They were very welcoming and I really have nothing but praise for them. And finally, we really enjoyed the Chinese buffet – with 2 young (sometimes fussy) kids, a vegetarian and a ‘meat eater’, we all found there was plenty to keep us happy and thought it was well priced. It also appeared to be popular with locals which is an endorsement.
I’d not hesitate to stay here again – but do revert back to my opening line: Your experience will very much depend on what you expect for the price and after taking into account the location.

Stayed one night Aug1/15 $102
Stayed in a newly renovated room on the second floor. Nice view of abandoned mining equipment. No airconditioning no ice machine no soap in room no wifi no carpet on floor, refrigerator in room faulty. Hotter than a fire cracker and to top it off double booked. At 1:00am I was awakened by a family opening the room door (no locks inside rooms) they said they just booked in and this is the room they were issued? Rather upsetting for all involved. Do yourself a favor and continue onto Merritt. Over the years I've stayed at this hotel maybe six times, That's it for me.
