We'd chosen Dambach-la-Ville to base ourselves in as a random guess, and the lack of choice of accommodation was a bit of a worry - but we needn't have had any concern. The Hotel Le Vignoble was absolutely fine - as other reviewers have said - spotless, and very well appointed. Yes, a bit old fashioned - we had a ground-floor room at the back, in the more modern part of the hotel, but the bed was comfortable & everything worked.
We were there during the heatwave, so aircon would have been nice, but the fan was fine - though the first night we made the mistake of leaving the window open to get a breeze - and all we got was the clock chiming every hour! But next night closed it & the double-glazing meant total silence.
The couple running the place were very friendly, though the husband had limited ... well, no English, though the wife was fluent. Breakfast was rather plain - rolls, croissant, jam and coffee - but fresh & fine. Dambach is a lovely village - a more authentic village with less tourists, so it lacked the slightly artificial nature of Riquewhir and Eguisheim. We tried both restaurants in the town - and both were fine, though L'Arbre Vert near the town gate was the best.

I travel alot in Europe and prefer to stay in small bed and breakfast type hotels when I can. This is one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in. there are only seven rooms and it is very old so the floors squeek, but it has been renovated and is also modern where it counts while retaining the old architectural interests.. the beds are comfortable, though a little hard which is common for Europe. the breakfast was a little sparse. only bread, cream cheeses and jellies, juice and coffee. but the service was great! English is spoken and they are very helpful. this region is incredible scenic and charming. I would definately go back!

The place was very nice. The rooms are cosy and the beds are comfy.
What I liked is that this place is a family run hotel where the owner and his wife make sure that you feel welcome. Both very very nice, helpful and friendly.
Wifi is free, reliable and fast.
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
Since the town is small it is close to everything.
Great place for a stopover on the wine route

The reason that I stay in a hotel is to: 1. Sleep. 2. Have breakfast.
The hotel is situated bext to a church which rings the bells every hour, or even half-hour and quarter of an hour! This means that I woke up at 6 am from the bells. Not what I expect from my holiday.
The breakfast was not so cheap but still included only coffe and bread. No yoghurt, no juice, no ham, no cheese, no eggs or anything else that I like to have.
Summary: 1. Bad sleep. 2. Bad breakfast.
Because ofthis is doesn't matter that the hotel and the staff was nice.

Hotel Le Vignoble is in a very good spot in Dambach la ville. Just a reminder that there is no lift and although there are few stairs, you will need to lug your heavy bags up them. Our room was spacious enough and very clean. Although it didn't have a/c it did have two large windows that you could open. The owner was very welcoming and had good English. She was very helpful and even made us some rolls for lunch as we were going on a hike to Bernstein Castle. This is very worthwhile. Breakfast was lovely and cost 9 Euro/ person but only runs from 8-9.30am.
The hotel is next to a rather large church whose bells ring on the quarter hour until 11pm then start up again at 6am which can be rather annoying. The hotel does have free wifi, but it can't be relied upon as it would kick us out on regular occasions. If you are travelling to Dambach la ville, just be aware that on Tuesday/Wednesday there is only one restaurant open in town, at least that was in September. This was a little limiting. Dambach is a beautiful little city and well worth a visit, and this hotel is really worth a stay. Just a little addition, the proprietor, upon hearing we were travelling to Riquewihr said she would drive us as she was traveling to Colmar. That is typical of the generosity of this establishment. The beds were very comfortable indeed.

stayed here for a family wedding in the village. The owner, Caroline, was friendly and helpful, and her facility with English was also helpful. The hotel is pretty and clean, and while the room was plain, the bed was comfortable. About the bells: folks, you're staying in a village that dates back to the 1100's - embrace it!! The breakfast was not fancy, but was tasty and delicious. Rooms here have wifi, as well as satellite television - it was a hoot watching English language movies and tv dubbed in French and German. Would give the hotel 5 stars, but I did miss having a washcloth.

Located next to a church, one might be annoyed by the bells - we loved them. They also didn't ring after 11 PM and were fine in the morning. We arrived late and the innkeeper was most gracious on the phone and after we arrived. Super small village and friendly people. Be sure to visit Florian Beck-Hartweg at the family winery a few blocks away - fluent in English, French, German - and great wine! The Hotel was very neat, good breakfast croissants and spreads, great location, very helpful information. - exceeded our expectations!

Amazing value for money. Nice rooms, spotlessly clean and a simple, delicious breakfast. Location very good-close to everything on the Routee De Vin. 2 simple restaurants within walking distance and an amazing one 2 kms away.

Friendly family run hotel, clean inexpensive, charming hosts on the 'route des vins', lovely breakfast, simply be aware of church bells starting at 07.00am, the hotel represents good value for money with plenty of local wineries and restaurants to sample traditional food from.

What a great find in the little town of Dambach-la-Ville. Franc certainly made us feel at home. While touring the valley, one should not miss staying here and exploring the many Caves in the city. We will certainly visit again on our next trip.
