6h drive then off A7 at Montélimar. A few more round the haystacks GPS and you come to Rochemaure with its beautiful setting, mediaval lived-in ruins up the side of a volcano! Afer the "long" drive, wander round the lovely lower village. 15 minutes up to Montélimar for a splendid choice of restaurants.

As every other Bar and Restaurant in the village ( a fabulous old village with fascinating archways from the main , hidden street ) was closed we must assume that the place was ready to close down for the winter . The lack of a bar ,no more than 1 glass of wine with the no choice dinner led us... More

We booked this hotel online while in France. WE booked a superior room with a balcony. The room was great - comfortable bed, clean bathroom and very welcomed AC. The hotel has a bar, which was good. Staff speak English and were really helpful when looking for places to visit and eat. The breakfast was good for 9 Euros but... More

This is a lovely hotel, the staff are very friendly, we stayed in a superior room which had a balcony with views of the ruin on the hill. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was well equipped with shampoo, toweling robes and slippers, everything you would need for a nights stay, also... More

Except in the lobby and breakfast room don't expect a medieval ambience as the hotel's name entices. The rooms are rather modern decorated and furnished and not very roomy. They offer the necesssary basic comfort. However, the bathrooms are big and very nice modern equipped. The breakfast is okay, but not a buffet as the hotel calls it. The hotel... More
