Set in the picturesque seaside town of Barrington Passage on Nova Scotia's south shore you will find Salty Shores Inn & Cafe. The inn has two beautifully appointed bedrooms, both en-suite with two Queen size beds in each. Both rooms feature a flat screen 40" TV with satellite channels, a microwave, mini fridge and coffee/tea maker. In the en-suite bathroom there is a hairdryer. RYA-2023-24-04281600226710764-3533
We had a wonderful overnight stay. Barrington is such a beautiful place but having such a clean, well appointed room with every thoughtful detail covered, was pure luxury. Even though it is by a main road, the sound doesn't travel into the room at all. Tastefully decorated and special touches like handmade soap, differentiate this place from the others. I plan on staying here again next year.

Our room at the Salty Shores was large and very comfortable. It was our first experience in check your self in and out, and it worked fine. The place is near a supermarket, the coastal trail, and many other attractions, including a cute trail decorated with painted rocks, apparently a local school project.

Stayed there on a trip around Southwestern Nova Scotia. The Inn is well located close to some shopping and walking distance to a couple of good restaurants. The Inn has a self check in and secured access in a nice older building. The room was very quiet for a goods night sleep. The beds are extremely comfortable and the room was extremely clean. I would highly recommend this inn for those pole that are travelling in the area.

I stayed at this property in May 2019 with my adult daughter. The room was lovely and well appointed. There was no problem with parking, just across a quiet road in a parking area. The owner has done a fine job restoring this building while keeping original character of this vintage 1909 building. Very close to Cape Sable Island and it's beautiful scenery and beaches as well as shopping/restaurants in Barrington. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Although the cafe was not yet open in May, my understanding from following the inn's Facebook page that it is now open and serving hot and cold drinks as well as homemade sweets, soups and panini sandwiches, and the food shown in the photos looks delicious! I hope I'm in the area again sometime to stay again and try the cafe.

The room had an essence of understated elegance. It was comfortable, the shower was heavenly & everyone in the area was extremely friendly. Natasha, the owner, was very helpful and courteous. Slept well there.

I stayed here for 2 nights on business. Tastefully decorated with a simple, bright modern aesthetic, Natasha still managed to embrace some of the historic charm of this old building. I was so pleased with the cozy warm room and deluxe bedding (rivals any high-end hotel room) - I had a great sleep. There are lots of cute windows that let the daylight in but great blackout blinds means exterior light at night is not an issue. It is located on a busier street but you don't even notice it once you are situated in your room and by early evening traffic in Barrington is non-existent. Parking is not an issue and the sweet cafe downstairs is great for a light lunch or a tasty coffee break! You will not be disappointed with your stay here. I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend booking a room here. Natasha was very helpful and accommodating!

I’m not just quoting an awesome movie 😎 I will definitely be back!!
My friend and I had a work conference to attend in Barrington and we were both blown away with this place!!!
It couldn’t have been cleaner or well-appointed. Super specious and nicely decorated. The beds and pillows were EXTREMELY comfortable and perfectly tidy.
The mini bar area had a larger bar fridge (so nice to know we could walk across the street to the grocery store and whatever we bought would fit as opposed to a teeny tiny mini bar that holds 3 cans of pop). There was also a microwave, wine glasses, coffee mugs & to go cups, dishes and cutlery! There was even extra coffee (not just 1 or 2) which made getting up early much easier to handle.
I took photos with our bags on the beds so you know I didn’t steal pics from online, this was how beautiful it was when I walked in! Not only is this place beautiful but very spacious and the historic legacy being built in 1909 was really interesting... I’ll let you read the plaque in the entrance hallway which tells the story of this building. With all that history you can tell no detail was overlooked in this brand new renovation.
Bonus- the security features including individual entry door codes made coming and going a breeze and WiFi worked immediately.
I will definitely return again and again to these Salty Shores - and not just for business! 🌊

I have stayed here a few times now. It is a brand newly renovated historic building in a great location and a town that I was unfamiliar with. Incredible attention to detail that made me feel at home. Any negative review can be disregarded. I travel very regularly for business all over North America and always stay at high-end hotels when I’m in larger areas because I need modern amenities and cleanliness in order to feel comfortable. This is every bit as nice or nicer than any Hilton or Marriott with a charming small town air B&B feel. Natasha is an excellent host with attention to all details. I often wonder about people who post negative reviews. I am picky and this is nice. Enjoy your stay here and in this beautiful part of the world. Looking forward to checking out the newly opened cafe downstairs in the morning!
