Nothing fancy, however, everything was clean, in working order. Would recommend the North Country for anyone needing to stay in Vanderhoof, BC. Friendly staff, restaurant on site, conveniently located in town.

The last two occasions I visited here the food was very sub par. First trip I had snitzel that came with unmistakable frozen vegetables-the peas/carrots/beans variety. When you’re paying $24 a plate, frozen veggies are a complete and utter disappointment. Not to mention a total rip off. And the snitzel was bland and no gravy.

On the second visit I had chicken fingers that were so burnt upon arrival at our table that she took the initiative and brought them back for new ones. SHE was embarrassed! When they came replaced they were still hard as rocks. I couldn’t eat them. Maybe they need to clean/turn down the fryer? Or watch more closely?

Very disappointing for the amount of $$this place charges for less than desirable food.

A few of the waitresses are fabulously kind and friendly. That’s about all the place has going for it.

After an experience with shady motels right on Hwy 16, my wife and I tried North Country Inn. The rooms are neat, clean, have a fridge, microwave and even a hotplate. I don't care about "idiotbox" but there is a big screen on the wall. I have stayed in cheaper motels where they trusted me with their pot and pans. Not here, gotta pay extra. Our room (41) was in the back, where a lot of work crews stayed. No problem with that, except a driver left a reefer on about 80 feet from our door. The double-paned windows saved the night. Also, eating at their diner is a must if you're into schnitzels and salad bars (Euro-style).

We stayed at this Inn on a Sunday, we didn't know it but the restaurant closes at 3:00 p.m. on Sundays. Can't review the restaurant. The rooms were okay, clean though. We probably wouldn't stay here again.

I gave an average score but would have ranked it higher had the window coverings had blackout curtains. I have a hard time sleeping when a room is flooded with light. Other than that I would say the motel was quite acceptable.

We ordered calamari and chicken wings with gravy for appetizers then mushroom burger and pineapple chicken burger with Caesar salad and two iced tea. We finished all the food and we both got satisfied. Chicken is golden brown and fried. Gravy seemed home made, better than KFC. Calamari was perfectly fried, not too much breading but I found the serving small. The accompanying sauce is really compatible. My pineapple burger has lettuce, tomato, cheese, fried chicken, bacon and pineapple. The mushroom burger has lettuce, tomato, beef patty and mushroom with fries. If you want salad instead of fries, you will just add 2$. Iced tea is refreshing, not bland nor full of ice. Ambience of the place is perfect! I love the cabin inspired resto and the dried or preserved animals such as birds, deer or moose heads, bear etc as decors are eye-catching! Will surely go back! Our burgers cost 13.95 each which I actually find affordable. I recommend this place! The server by the way, the young pretty lady is very polite and approachable.

Dinner at the old Country Inn was a pleasant surprise. The service was terrific, food was plentiful and very well prepared the menu was Canadian fare with steaks, excellent
Ribs, steak & seafood chowder. In all it was a excellent dining experience. Also of note was their excellent salad bar.

We have stayed at the North County Inn every year for the past 8 years.
The rooms are large and "very" clean. We stayed in Room 43 this year which has a small kitchenette. Very well appointed.
Bed is very comfortable. Bathroom appears to have been updated.
The Inn has a restaurant which is open from breakfast to supper.
Within walking distance you will find two other very good restaurants that are ranked 2 and 5 (The Reid Hotel)on trip advisor. I've eaten at both and they are excellent 😀.
I would recommend the North Country Inn.

We stayed at this property for one night on our road trip. the rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly. Our room was on the bottom floor and we were able to drive right up an d park in front. We ate supper at the restaurant right next door which was very good. The restaurant was very unique. The town was pretty closed when we got there but we were able to walk around and get the feel of the small town. No breakfast was included in the price but there is an A & W close by where we picked up a good breakfast for cheap. I believe the free wifi was in the restaurant only.

We stayed here for our sports team tournament so we had a few rooms booked here. Each room I was in was nice and clean and easy to find. We stayed in unit #47 which was at the very back in the last building upstairs. There are no elevators but it is only one floor. Our unit was nice and clean. It also had a park close by for the kids. No pool but there is a restaurant with pretty decent food. They have their menu listed on their website so we knew in advance it was going to be good. The kitchen cupboards were locked and there was a note saying that it costs extra to use the kitchen items in the cupboard (dishes, pots etc) but we were only staying one night so it did't matter to us. We did use the mini fridge and the microwave though. Check in was easy and check out was even easier. We simply dropped our room key in the slot as we already took care of our payment upon check in. Our room had 2 queen beds for our family of 3 and cost us $148.03 in total incl. taxes which seems a bit high considering its a smaller town. But nonetheless it was a nice stay. Lots of parking, nice and clean, good restaurant and close to a play park.
