Detailed Reviews
Booked room on line...arrived late so ended up staying here.....this property is marginal at best...the girl that rents the rooms also runs the cold beer and wine store she had to run back and forth to take care of customers and book us in. Our room overlooked the parking lot which was next to the Bar/night club...the patrons used the area below our room for a smoking pit and gathering place. Noisy until 0200hours.Bathroom had numerous issues...hot water ran at a trickle...toilet bowl loose....tub not clean and slow to drain. Kitchen fridge had not been defrosted large block of ice was the freezing unit. Our room number was written on the door with black felt marker..... also open stairwells with fire doors propped open..

The dirtiest place I've stayed in. I would have left but I prepaid through a booking company. I think this hotel make their revenue on the bar, chinese-food restaurant and liquor store. If you just need a place to lay your head and don't cring at the dirty details, it passes. The bathtub had horrible rust stains. But I didn't feel my car was safe in the back parking lot with people walking to the liquor store. As a female who likes to travel on a budget, this was a bust for me.

This place is run down and not a good place at all. The rooms and hall ways have a strong smell of cigarette smoke. I would have packed up and left if it had not been so late when I checked in. Beds are old and uncomfy and walls and bathrooms needs an update.

The pictures in their web site are deceiving because the motel actually is poor in maintenance, all rooms are not clean. I doubt my bedding has been changed from last visit. Though staff are helpful and generous to offered 2 extra rooms to us since they are running out of roll away. However the poor quality of the motel make me never return.

I was looking for a cheap place to stay and I found it. It was a place to stay and that was about it. The wifi doesn't work about half way down the hall so if that matters then you need to pick the right room. I had to move. Very lacking in maintenance. If you want a nice place to stay you'll have to pay a little more and choose a different place.

We arrived in Vanderhoof and we were surprised to find that there were no vacancies in our preferred spot. Everything else in town was full, except for Glen's and one other establishment. Since we'd already stayed at the other place, we decided to give Glen's a try.
Understand this from the start: this place has no curb appeal. The front is a cold beer and wine store and a Chinese restaurant. On entering, the first young lady was splitting her shift between the bar, desk and beer and wine store. A second young lady got us checked in. After she'd heard my needs, she suggested a suite.
The room was better than I expected, given the very dated hallway. It was clean and the air conditioners worked. The living area was made up of a sitting area and a kitchenette. The cooking area did show signs of age and needed some minor repair. The fridge in the cooking area did not work, but a larger, newer bar type fridge was there. The cords in the entertainment area were visible and the remote for the TV was temperamental.
The two queen beds in the sleeping area were comfortable enough. The bath was basic and provided more than enough towels for a group of four.
The two balconies did front on to the parking lot and highway. And, if you're not used to it, the railroad across the highway is quite noisy.
All in all, Glen's Motor Hotel is tattered around the edges, but a reasonable value.

Going to the Vanderhoof Air show, & this was the first motel I phoned that had vacancy 10 days ahead of the show. If you want a cheap room for a short stay, then this would be a good choice. But, if cosmetic appearance is important to you, then it would not be. Our room was clean, bed was reasonably comfortable, carpet & some of the furnishings looked like they had been updated, & also some of the bathroom fixtures. The shower worked o.k., but bathtub was chipped & at the tap end was badly worn, & stained - a new tub would be a great improvement. WiFi was supposed to be "available in all areas", but it wasn't reliable, or the connection was poor, & I gave up trying to get it to work.
