We visited Cortijo Prado Toro in Sep 2015 - it was a wonderful experience. Peaceful, amazing views, beautiful architecture and a fabulous host. There are plenty of walks that can be done from the villa or from a short car journey into one of the surrounding white villages. The host is a charming character! He is welcoming, full of local...

As one of a few very lovely places, this has to be one of the loveliest - fabulous for relaxation and recreation. This outstripped our expectations, even with the great description. All facilities are kept very clean and fresh. Cortijo Prado Toro is very peaceful and the setting and elegant buildings have been lovingly and tastefully designed affording almost total...

Prado Toro is a very nice place with beautiful, big appartments. Fully equiped. A nice owner who tells a lot about the enviremont. If you want rest this is the place. No breakfast and you have to go a part by dust road. So plan your shoppings.

This is an ideal place to stay if you want to explore the Alpujarras , or have a quiet get away. The facilities are really good and comfortable. For any one who wants to use a pool the shared pool is great. The owners are really helpful and friendly but not intrusive. We had a wonderful time thanks Ludet

If you want peace, to escape the crowds and a stunning setting this is the place. This together with the extremely helpful owner made this a very enjoyable stay. However be aware that at night temperatures drop and outside dining is limited. Some great walks around and a real escape from the rat race!

Prado Toro is a classical Alpujarras building which has been skilfully designed as 5 very private and comfortable apartments - all with separate outside space. Each apartment has been thoughtfully planned and finished with high quality fittings and furnishings, all maintained to a very high standard. The hosts hospitality is without bounds and his knowledge of the locality is amazing....

We really enjoyed our (to short!) stay at cortijo prado toro, a perfect place to enjoy the quiet and nature in comfort. The place is remote and surrounded by beautiful gardens, with a great view of the alpujarras and most importantly for the hikers is set directly on the GR7. Our host welcomed us warmly and gave us all the...

We came to the area to hike and were not disappointed. In addition to countless local trails, the GR-7 hiking trail that extends from Athens to southern Spain crosses a short distance away. We stayed in our own unit in Ludet's hillside inn with fireplace, kitchen, and radiant stone floors. It was a great base for hiking (lots of mountain...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Cortijo Prado Toro is situated in the Natural Park of the Alpujarras , on the southern slopes of the National Park of the Sierra Nevada, Spains highest and most dramatic mountain range in the province of Granada. The historic white villages of "La Taha" are within easy reach. The main town of the Taha, Pitres, is less than 10 min away by car. The Cortijo (country house) faces south, towards the Mediterranean, at an altitude of 1.450M, opening up breathtaking views of unspoiled natural countryside. On clear days even extending to the Rif mountains of North Africa. Cortijo Prado Toro is a delightful quiet place set amidst stunning country side. Hidden courtyards and patios provide sanctuaries of shade and greenery, whilst secluded terraced corners offer privacy in the sun. Weeping branches of mature willow trees form bowers of tranquility, and the gentle murmer of a spring or fountain never seems far away. Only birdsong or the muted clanging of distant goat bells is likely to disturb the silence of this quiet mountain retreat. The architecture of the buildings, designed and restaured with the help of "Donald Gray", an authority in traditional Andalusian architecture, is in the traditional Alpujarran style with much care taken on the detail. The individually designed and decorated apartments, all separated from eachother to provide absolute privacy , are all furnished to a high standard and combine simplicity and luxury with elegance of another era. ... more   less
