#2 of 4 B&Bs / Inns in Pitres
The small hotel "Sierra y Mar" is situated at the top of the village with a wonderful view over the flat roofs and the surrounding mountains. Entering the house through the blue door is like walking into a small village as the house is actually several houses joined together by gardens and terraces. The spaciousness and the quietness of the place is increased as most rooms have their own terrace with superb views. All the rooms have modern bathrooms and central heating. There is also a large living-room with a fireplace, a library and a kitchen for the use of the clients. WiFi.The small whitewashed village Ferreirola is beautifully and appropriately placed at 1,000 m on the southern slope of the National Park Sierra Nevada. The mild climate of the valley, the many mountain springs, and the rich vegetation make up the scenery of this former Moorish village.Fortunately for walkers an ancient network of mule tracks is preserved. Marked routes:The E4/ GR7, GR 142, Ruta Medieval.

This place was a definite highlight of our trip to the Alpujarras. Beautiful, quiet setting, and a lovely garden and terrace. Breakfast was plentiful, imaginative and delicious. You can do some great walks from here.

One of the best places we have ever stayed. Very happy - thanks. Comfy beds, delicious and generous breakfast in the sun. A great base for walking and easy and interesting places to eat nearby as well as a good kitchen for self catering. Thoroughly recommended and intending to go back if at all possible.

This very charming and personal B&B off the beaten track is a great find. Simple, tastefully furnished rooms, peaceful gardens, sunroof with mountain views, delicious breakfast and Inger and Sepp make it home for you. I will be back.

We stayed at this guesthouse for 3 nights in early May 2015. It truly is "off the beaten path." The property is rustic, charming, and very well cared for. The hosts are delightful and attentive. They have a library stocked full of pamphlets for day hikes that depart right from the guesthouse, complete with maps and directions. Ingar is happy to recommend specific itineraries based on length, difficulty, and interests. There is a spacious communal kitchen available for the guests in case you want to bring your own food and do your own cooking. They also have beverages and wine stocked in the refrigerator; you simply indicate on a roster the items consumed and then pay upon check-out. Because the village is so isolated, I recommend stopping at a market to buy snacks and
