At DoubleTree by Hilton La Torre Golf & Spa Resort, guests have called out the spaciousness of the rooms and the beauty of the main areas, though some have found the decor outdated and the attention to detail lacking. While the pools are a highlight for many travelers, opinions on the hotel's overall cleanliness and amenity maintenance are divided. Service has been a concern, with reports of staff attitude and inconsistent service impacting experiences. Furthermore, concerns about value are common, with criticisms centering on the quality of breakfast, costly extras, and room amenities that don't meet expectations.

This is an excellent hotel and fantastic value for money.
Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Very comfortable bed and a bathroom with bath, big walk in shower and luxurious bath soaps and shampoo etc.
Breakfast was also excellent. Small buffet with selection of cereals, toast, pastries, fruit, yoghurt etc but also a cooked to order selection of hot food.
All the staff were friendly and efficient.
Will definitely stay here again.

As a “long-time” Hilton user and diamond status holder in this chain, I want to share with you my opinion of this hotel. First a few words about the Hilton chain: these hotels provide generally "basic hotel services" such as continental breakfast, room, internet, gym, sometimes swimming pool and sometimes depending on the status of the hotel there may be an executive lounge, washing room with washing machine and dryer, restaurants/bars, underground parking, spa. The average room is usually the same throughout the network - a small 22-26m room (there is more of course, for an extra charge) with a good bed, tight ceiling-to-floor curtains, TV, safe, table, chair, armchair or sofa, and toilet with shower or bath. Purity is generally 3+ 4+. Breakfast ranges from a minimum to a relatively good choice depending on the hotel. The only thing guaranteed to be great everywhere is the staff, which is what makes this hotel chain stand out. Otherwise, it feels like the hotel is stuck in the last century with the quality of services and their diversity. Cleaning rooms is clearly not the best side of this hotel. On the one hand, it is not bad that you will get some guaranteed and equal terms everywhere in this network. On the other hand, hotels usually require renovation, meeting some freshly renovated or newly renovated hotel is rare. As a rule, of the innovations in these hotels - it is only regular price increases. Yes, there are still some improvements in the room reservation app, such as the electronic room key (but this is in rare hotels), the possibility of online registration and room selection (don't count on any large choice of rooms, sometimes you can choose only one room that you are entitled to and nothing else). Of interest is the bonus program of the hotel, it is designed for those who regularly need the hotel, depending on the status you can be provided some things for free: breakfast and access to the Executive Lounge. But to get maximum status, you need to spend 30 stays or 60 nights in a hotel per year or collect 120,000 points for your living expenses.

And this hotel is nothing but staff. Yes, the staff handles any problems/questions you may have and is very friendly. Breakfast is fine. Otherwise, it is a standard Hilton in chronic need of repair, with "so bad" cleaning. Of the additional features of this Hilton are the tiles on the floors of the rooms, the ants (which will devour your "welcome" desserts before you even arrive in the room) and some creepy periodic stench in the area. There's a swimming pool inside and another one is terribly cold outside. Gym from the '80s.

The beach needs to drive about 20 km, there are very good ones, if you need a beach holiday - you are here.

The hotel is fine but it is showing its age, especially the rooms. If the owners spent a bit of money sprucing them up, it would go a long way. There was a private event the Saturday night I was there but no notification was given so when I went to the bar for a drink, I was refused as it was reserved for the private event. Not acceptable. Pool area is nice enough although the bar shuts at 5pm even when there are still a number of guests around and looking for service. Obviously this hotel has a monopoly in La Torre but I feel it should strive to improve a bit more than the level it’s currently at.

DoubleTree Hilton La Torre is the worst imaginable Hilton hotel, and I say that as someone who frequently chooses to stay at a Hilton hotel when we travel.

We stayed for six nights as part of a golf trip, and every day we had to call the reception due to issues with room cleaning. Typically, towels were not provided, which is quite impressive considering they don’t seem to have a checklist for preparing rooms. On the first day, housekeeping forgot our room, so when we returned at around 4:30 PM, it hadn’t been cleaned.

The room is sparsely furnished, and there wasn’t even hand soap by the sink. There’s no electric kettle, so we couldn’t make a cup of coffee ourselves. We asked the reception for a kettle – but why isn’t one just provided in the room? Perhaps you need to be upgraded to a higher standard to get this as a basic amenity in the room.

The breakfast buffet is uninspiring, and the female server who checks you in and asks for your room number is rude and very unwelcoming, while also monitoring that you don’t take anything from the buffet. But don’t worry – there’s absolutely nothing you’d want to take with you, not even a roll for the golf round.

The reception staff is completely uninterested in you as a guest – no friendly smiles or welcoming phrases. Check-in consists of handing you an envelope, inside of which you can read the breakfast times. What a welcome – they don’t even say welcome at all. What has happened to Hilton? When did it become unfashionable not to greet guests, or at least give them the feeling that the staff is ready to help if needed?

DoubleTree Hilton claims to have 5 stars, but they are unfortunately very far from that – they are closer to one. For us, we will never again stay at a Hilton hotel.

I stayed with my partner from 8/20/23 to 8/22/23, to celebrate our anniversary, supposedly in a high-end hotel. The stay there was horrible. It doesn't deserve the five stars it has. There was only gel and shampoo in the room. After asking the reception for the basics, they only gave us a toothbrush. They didn't have a bar of soap because it was Sunday. When we got to the room it was very cold, because the A/C was completely cold, we had to remove it. We went to see the hotel facilities, such as an indoor pool, sauna, Turkish bath and gym. And what was our surprise, we saw cockroaches. We ordered dinner from the restaurant on Saturday to be delivered to the room and the desserts were full of ants, because there was an anthill in the room, so I had to clean all the plates, cutlery, glasses, in the sink, so that There was no leftover food, since there were many ants and I had to remove them by hand (I spent 2 hours). There was poor hygiene in the room because bugs bit us on our bodies. There is a lake in the hotel that is terrible, because of the dirty water there, which is why it smells terrible and that causes a lot of unhealthiness for the premises and the guests, because of the bugs that are there. The hotel staff was very distant and unfriendly. The description they give and photos do not match reality. It was disappointing. Something like this has never happened to me.

Nice hotel with a large pool, but denotes neglect in maintenance. First of all, when you arrive at the room on one side of the bed, the bedside table was missing, in the bathroom they have shampoo and gel and conditioner but no hand soap. Then they don't have do-not-disturb door signs. On the first morning of the stay the roommate knocks on the door at 11 a.m. to come in to clean, while we were still sleeping. He woke us up. Telling her to give us a do not disturb sign for the next day she tells us that she does not have, that they are finished and to ask at reception if they have. We go to reception and they tell us that the customers take them and they have almost no posters. Don't you have this in a 5-star hotel? I don't understand. A receptionist found us one after we went around to see where it was. This is the first time I've seen him. What way is this working? The floor of the pool, both indoors and outdoors is full of chips, unfortunately, the umbrellas look old and broken, apart from there are very few. The next day we go to the pool and when we return to the room we see that they have already done it, but they have not left us shower towels. I go to the waitress who was there and I ask her and she tells me that she does not have enough shower towels and they have not been able to put them in several rooms. Unbelievable. We can't shower. In the afternoon we had to call reception to ask for them and finally they were uploaded. The balcony has dirty, cobwebbed ceilings that haven't been cleaned for centuries. Anyway, there are many details that make the hotel not deserve the stars it has.

We visited at the beginning of August, it was a combined holiday, one half of the week spent in the same room with a friend and the second half a different room with my husband.

The hotel is in its own complex/area which has its own small 'village' centre. The centre is roughly 5 mins walk from the hotel and it has 3/4 bars and a number of restaurants.

I emailed prior to our visit advising of my friends special birthday and also mine and my husbands anniversary, hence the holiday, I was extremely disappointed to note that the email response completely ignored these special times and simply replied concerning check in time.

Definitely not what I would expect of a 5* hotel.

the breakfast is 18 euros each which is extremely expensive for what it is. Much better to visit one of the pubs in the centre where a breakfast is roughly 5-10 depending what you have.

The room we had first half of the week had amazing air conditioning the second half in room 003 saw us reporting the patio door not locking nor the air conditioning working properly 3 times reported and not once did anyone visit or feedback, the last night spent sleepless due to the heat in the room.

Everyone was pleasant but it does lack any kind of atmosphere and you take your life in your hands depending on who does your cocktails!

All in all a good break but you definitely need a car if you want to venture out beyond the 'complex' otherwise taxi costs would mount up very quickly!!!!

The hotel has good facilities and the staff in general is friendly and helpful, except for the last lady who assisted us at reception who was unpleasant and unfriendly. I am going to list all the problems we had, we arrived at 9:00 at night and the room was not ready nor did they know what it was. We spent about half an hour waiting for the room to be given to us, when we got up, it was very dirty, full of dust, the pillows looked like someone had lain on the bed and they had not been changed... We asked them to clean it while we had dinner, and we also They gave us a room with an anthill that made the bathroom full of ants, the television was broken, the telephone was broken, the safe was broken…. In the afternoon we went to the spa to use what the room included and we couldn't use it because it was disconnected and the water was cold in the pool and shower area. In addition, the saunas were disconnected… In short, a disaster and we will not repeat it, at least they could have had the detail and given us a discount that cost us €200 each night, which is not little, ah! And a bottle of water in a very normal plastic container, six euros🫨

Hotel is lovely, great pools and nice location however the flies were unbearable. As soon as we stepped outside the car there were sooo many flies! This was not just at mealtimes and not just at the hotel - the whole resort is plagued by them! From lounging by the outdoor pool to having a drink in a nearby bar - bring your fly swatter!!!! It made mealtimes outside impossible and even lying by the pool unpleasant. The main restaurant is very expensive and extremely small portions - we would recommend eating (inside) at one of the other local restaurants behind the hotel. Parking is also very expensive - but parking on the street was free! Only realised as we left that parking onsite as a gold member was complimentary! Staff on reception could be more attentive - also no cookies on arrival at this double tree! Can’t comment on the spa as we never found anyone on reception to book anything! The VIP lounge is closed along with the kids club - the feel of the hotel is very much that it was once a very luxurious hotel but has since slipped and is now very average.

Hotel minus

No soap in public toilets

Shower in room poor, even though called maintenence twice. Still not working. Hotel did offer us to change rooms but being disabled, it was a mammoth task

Building exterior very tired.

Lack of sun brollies 8 in a huge area.

Had to remind staff for pool towels at 11am

Tiles missing in pool

Bird poo around pool area on sun loungers and tables which was never wiped away. Bird poo on flooring in pool area should be cleaned daily. Pool had a lot of debris floating around.

Went to pool toilets at 11.45am to change into my cossie and the toilets were locked. I told staff and had to wait 15 mins for them to unlock them. Luckily i didnt need to 'go'.

There wasn't a smell in February, but there's still not enough water in it because there's not enough rain anyway. Management in a couple of areas has changed. 22€ charge for carpark except for Diamond Club members. New chef has, in our opinion, wrecked the menu. It's such a pity - beautifully designed hotel.

You can get a breakfast at the nearby restaurant but the breakfast at the hotel is incredible, huge buffet of hot and cold dishes and a chef to cook omelettes etc. Try it once and you’ll eat there every day
