Barnham Broom hotel is frequently lauded for its friendly and professional staff, contributing to the warm, inviting atmosphere guests cherish. While the rooms are praised for comfort and cleanliness, a few visitors mention they can be snug and dated.
Although the hotel's spa and dining options are popular for their quality, some guests note that the pool is small and there are additional charges. Set in the tranquil Norfolk countryside, many find Barnham Broom to be the ideal retreat, despite mixed feelings about the value due to high prices for drinks and extras.

Detailed Reviews
Our Seniors Mixed golf group were treated to a wonderful experience as the staff were so pleasant and helpful throughout our 3 day stay. Despite the expected covid related restrictions the stay was relaxed and we felt safe at all times.
On arrival the reception lady had all our details passed on by Sheila who organised the stay in advance and we were able to get into our rooms immediately after our initial round of golf and drinks on the outdoor terrace. Dinner had been pre-ordered and the food exceeded expectations. The service was efficient and friendly whilst the wine selections were made easier through the helpful approach of the catering manager. Breakfast, cooked to order, was even better!
The Pro-shop were efficient at producing the required "nearest the pins" and gave us a good deal on the purchase of prizes. The quality of the two courses, despite heavy rain prior to our arrival, were excellent with many interesting holes winding through the ponds & streams and mature trees.
Would definitely consider booking again in 2021 for our group.

If this hotel could streamline its service, it would be outstanding. However, some systems need coordinating. Breakfast is a case in point: on two occasions I got my hot breakfast before my cereal, and on one day, they arrived at the same time.
Some of the staff were amazing, others could have benefitted from customer service training.
I could see no clear roles on several occasions.
However, my room was spotless and very comfortable - the inclusion of a fridge was much appreciated.
The wine list is expensive - I would have purchased more if the price had been reasonable.
The food offering was vastly improved from previous experiences, although as part of a group, more choice would have been appreciated.

Dear Christine, thank you for sharing your experiences. I'm glad that overall you have enjoyed your break. As with most hospitality businesses; having to reopen after the lockdowns has not been easy and we are still working very hard to adjust to the new climate we find ourselves in. This will improve in time and certainly streamline as we settle down following Brexit, ongoing pandemic and recent "pingdemic", which all continue to play havoc to our industry. Thank you Shaun & team

We have stayed at Barnham Broom several times in the past for spa breaks. Our last visit was about 4 years ago.
We were delighted with the professionalism and freindliness of all the staff we had contact with. Special mentions must go to Davina (?) And Wendy in the restaurant and Charlotte and Rachanden in the spa. These 4 ladies offered care and service above and beyond our expectations.
The restaurant food and bar service were both excellent.
As always the cleanliness of our room and the public areas was excellent and the staff made sure that we did not feel too uncomfortable about wearing/not wearing masks.
The best part of out stay was that we were only called, "guys", once and the member of staff was such a sweetie that I didn't have the heart to rip him a new one!
All in all we had a wonderful few days and look forward to returning in the future.

Me and my partner stayed in the Junior Suite for my birthday weekend. Only thing was we was overlooking the front car park. We was a little disappointed by this as the Junior Suite was most expensive and we thought it would be worth paying the extra money because it may of had golf course views. However the rooms were quiet. The white company toiletries which were a lovely touch to the room. The room also had tea coffee making facilities along with biscuits, and a fridge which had water/sparkling water in which is a nice touch. Also a safe if needed but we didn’t need to use. The room service breakfast was fantastic! Swimming pool was relaxing at 8am. Beautiful views from the swimming pool facilities too. Delicious meals and drinks! Highly recommend the spa area where I had a facial and my partner had a back neck and shoulder massage.

Fantastic hotel. Can't fault it. The beds are comfortable, rooms clean and we asked for a quiet room (and apart from a bit of noise on the first morning around6 6.30 am not sure who/what that was but sounded like furniture being dragged around!) we got what we asked for. Staff are polite and courteous. Theodora is the lady for a massage and facial, fantastic and Alan was very polite and helpful with a golf lesson for my husband. This is our new favourite hotel and we will certainly be back. Thanks Team for everything.

Came for a weekend with my friend and had a neck, shoulder and back massage. Can honestly say it was amazing and I felt like a had grown three inches! The deal we had was overnight stay with breakfast, evening meal, 30 minute treatment each, use of all facilities and Prosecco in the room. Very good value for money and would definitely recommend. Will be coming back, 100%.

We booked an overnight stay for four friends at Barnham Broom as part of a package. We were expecting a relaxing night away but sadly this was anything but relaxing. We were at no point told that the swimming pool was open to children until 5pm and when we visited, the pool was full of around 15 kids, with inflatables and water pistols, constantly jumping in and out of the water and clogging up the swim lanes. The pool is not the biggest, and we couldn’t get near the whirlpool part, as the children were constantly in this space. The member of staff supervising completely failed to get a grip of this, despite numerous complaints from guests. The steam room and sauna were tiny, and were also full of kids as apparently they are able to use these from 8 years upwards. The whole shower and spa area resembles a public swimming pool, and the swimming pool was relatively cold. When we booked the break, the spa treatments were fully booked, but since the package offered a spa gift set, we were happy to take this instead. The “gift set” consisted of a packet of bath salts, a bar of soap, and a sample size body lotion, all wrapped up in a piece of paper - very disappointing. Whilst the staff were lovely and very helpful, too many mistakes were made with our orders - the cocktails were wrong, the wine we ordered at the table was wrong (white instead of red), the deserts were wrong, and the steak was medium rare instead of well done as requested. A very disappointing stay all round and we will not be returning. Having visited Barnham Broom regularly for work meetings, I was expecting more. We previously had a spa weekend at Dunston Hall in Norwich and felt that this was a much better experience.

Dear Lisa, thank you for leaving your review and I'm sorry to read that you had differing expectations to what is on offer at Barnham Broom. The Edge - is the onsite health and fitness centre and whilst hotel guests can add access to use this facility, it also services a local membership as well as guests staying in the apartments on site. As it is half term locally there are 2 allocated kids swim times - 09.00 until 10.30 and 15.30 until 17.00. I'm sorry if your visit was during the latter and your comments at the time were noted and we did ask the family of the "boisterous children" to please behave. I'm sorry to hear of any mix up with your orders and I'm sure this was quickly resolved by the team, noting your comments about them. I'm sorry that you would not consider returning, due to not meeting your expectations. We do plan to expand our facilities in the future and build a new Spa, so I hope we can welcome you when that is up and running. Best wishes Shaun

I was lucky enough to be booked in here by an organisation I’d been doing a project for. Fabulous room with huge very comfortable bed and a massive bathroom.
Everything was emaculate and having a teapot in the room just made it for me! I asked at reception if soya milk was available and they brought it up to my room in a jug. As the room had a fridge I was able to pop it in there.
I had an evening meal here which was lovely and they sorted out low fat versions of what I wanted with no fuss.
The breakfast was good quality with a good variety of options.
Can highly recommend. Look forward to going back.

I came with friends on the Girls Night in package. We felt the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, the treatments in the spa were among the best we have experienced, the food was extremely good and the whole package was great value for money. However we did feel uncomfortable walking through the sports bar in our dressing gown where there were several golfers and wedding guests. The pool area was not very relaxing as the loungers were just lined up along the window sill. The whole pool and changing area was a little tired and dated and the lockers did not work.
