I've spent 3 nights in Salassa Guest house in late December and I enjoyed it very much !! The location is ideal in the main street of Pantai Bira, close to every shops and to the beach. The bedroom was very comfortable (excellent mattress), large and clean, with a very good fan. All the house is charming, in wood, and...

The small open-air cafe served us great pancakes. The rooms were average but they planned to have a reconstruction. They let us have an early check-in and the owner was a nice guy, he offered us cheap boat to rent and he also helped us to rent a car to Makassar with reasonable fare compared to other guesthouses that take...

The Salassa guesthouse is an acquired taste. My first impression was pretty poor. Then, like the people in the review below (who I'm pretty sure are the people I enjoyed waiting for breakfast with!) I started to get into Bira time, and really appreciate the place! It is incredibly cheap - about £4 for B&B. However, I think it's only...

Hello sante and Eric... Hello Bira! Are you ready for space pancakes? Wooden rooms that might not withstand a strong storm but no bugs? A toilet selection that is basic, but makes bath rooming a shared and happy occasion that leads to interesting breakfast conversation? Then the salassa is for you. I booked for 10 nights and left after just 2. The first night I asked for whatever was easiest for them to cook from their menu. I sat with 2 Dutch people who had ordered just before me. The food took 2 hours to arrive. The next morning it took an hour for some toast and coffee. This made me...

Our stay in Bira was made even better by staying at Salassa Guesthouse. Eriq and Shanty, the owners, are extremely helpful and always smiling and joking. The food is so nice and they do more than just nasi/mie goreng. Personal recommendations would be the chicken kare or barracuda with saos ala Salassa. They warn you that the food takes a...

After checking out a lot of places in BIra this is the best value for money. Rooms are large enough, bed is confortable and shared bathrooms are clean. What we enjoyed the most is the charming atmosphere in the common area (the restaurant), whith soft music in the afternoon, a nice place to relax. The food is exquisite and tasty...

She and the whole team always try to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and also offer very delicious food. Our room on the second floor was very clean and had a...
