Beautiful resort but lacks in having a nice cold beer had to ask for pail and ice and wifi only in lobby not very practical for guest wanting to work and enjoy the beach view. This is not mentioned on their site. Also use bus service because driving and waiting for barge takes forever to cross. Approximately 3 to 4 hours to cross and bus service is prioritized

It's a nice place to visit but need more inprovement.. A highly recommend this place.. You can have fun and enjoy staying at there place so add them to your travel list.. The entrance fee is not so expensive you can take a lot of nice pictures in there place. It was a huge area, the pool was nice well for kids and adults.. The stuff we're nice.. But the service was not so good the food will take an hour before its being delivered.. So I suggest that you order and hour or more prior to your breakfast or lunch

The birthday celebration for my aunt lasts the entire day. They selected this Resort since it was convenient for our relatives and suitable for families with young children. It features a beautiful and attractive environment, pools for people of all ages, a play area for children, and courteous personnel. The neighborhood or cottages are tidy and clean.

Experienced a lot of issues with this hotel resort. One of the guards is disrespectful and it looks like he doesn't like his job. Food was bland, their buffet breakfast just consisted of omelette and 2 other viand that you can just cook at home, plus there was not much of an effort with the food. Service? Really disappointing, if you’re going to eat near the beach in the afternoon, there’s an additional fee and when we asked why, it’s because they have fewer employees at that time and we should be paying extra if we decide to dine in that area. Amenities were limited and at 9 pm everything is closed. You can’t do anything after that, just sleep. Tho the other employees were nice, except for the guard who showed us an attitude. Everything has a price, you can’t bring chips, juice from outside. Guards will check everything you’re going to bring inside and if you encounter a guard that has an attitude, they’ll charge you. You can’t park inside the area only the “owner” as what the guard told us. Also, when we called for reservation, on the first call they told us they were fully booked and when one of my relatives tried calling again they told us that they actually have rooms for 10 persons which is weird, it shows they’re not organized with their booking. When we got here, there was few to no others guests in the place. Massage is overpriced. A lot of food in the menu weren’t available and it took for our ordered sandwiches and shakes almost 2 hours to arrive. These are probably the reasons why the Pearl Farm has better reviews and people choose to go there. The entire area is not recommended for seniors as the rooms are below the lobby and the road is too steep if you’re not able to encounter a ride. Will never come back, save your money and just look for other places.

p.s. too mang mosquitoes, there’s a dead lizard just at our door, wifi is not too strong and there’s power outage.

I’m giving 2 stars not 1, just because the employees of the hotel were nice and approachable.

For me, Villa Amparo is one of the most beautiful beaches on Samal Island. The pool is very clean and pet friendly, and their sea is very clean, with staff cleaning it every hour. In the room, it's very clean and very fragrant; you can't say anything, even when eating; everything is sealed, and they make sure that what you eat is clean. All their staff are also very friendly and will take care of you if you need them. All in all, is very ok. I highly recommend Villa Amparo Beach Resort for your loved ones, friends, or family.

We have waited 1 hr for our ordered lunch at cafe ruben on our arrival day. Very limited selections pf food on the restaurants available inside. Everytime I call the room service to request for something, it will not arrive unless you follow up again with them. No bath towel available, no hair dryer available. You have to call them to request those and they will apologize to you because they had runned put of towels due to non-collection from other guests. Ridiculous that o hotel/resort had this kind of issue. On our first night (January 6th) the power tripped 3x. On January 8th at 12am, again power tripping every now and then and we tried calling the reception but no one responds. The place is beautiful and employees are friendly but sad to say, there is a lot of mismanagement at this resort which results to poor service.

We were pleased with the resort, the fact that they are pet friendly… because pets are part of the family.
Although, we could not bring our own food like rice, soda, etc… we were able to bring water, birthday cake, and bread. And to be honest, we were able to “smuggle” in some cookies for the kiddos.
What stood out for me, other than the place is beautiful, is how friendly the staff were. The staff, for me, is the gem. They are very friendly, always with a smile, always ask if we needed anything, and were very courteous. They were very helpful, especially in helping my aged dad.
About the place, we enjoyed it, we even had a professional family picture session in the water front area, and the staff were also helpful when we needed to move some benches.
Their resort is hilly, so my dad had a hard time walking uphill. But they have carts to pick him up, when requested.
We’ve been to so many 5 star hotels and resorts. But I gave them 5 star rating because of how helpful and genuine the staff are. The place is a plus.
Will definitely come back, when in the Davao city area.

The room was clean and acceptable for the price we paid

The only downside was no Netflix available in our room so our daughter had to watch cartoons on the phone

I like the place quite nice, staff were kind. The Nipa hut was big good for four to five people children will love the beach and their banana boat. But the service was a bit slow. Still have rooms for improvement.

Hi! Yes there is a common grill at the resort you may use. Overnight room rates already include entrance fees based on regular capacity. Yes, the rooms are clean. After housekeeping, there is a final room sweep by a different person prior to releasing the room to the guest. Hope this helps!
