We never ended up staying at this property, cancelling at 24 hours notice. The day before we were due to arrive, we ended up leaving other accommodation at a nearby vineyard as it wasn't up to scratch (and that is being polite). We ended up driving to Christchurch airport and catching a plane to Auckland and staying there for 2...

Thank you very much for this review. It is always unfortunate to hear reports from guests who have found some accommodation providers substandard. The B&B association to which we at Karetu Downs are members works hard to monitor and advise accommodation providers. If you see B&B association NZ advertised on websites you can be assured that these accommodation providers will...

This place is just fantastic!! The drive from the main road is along a non sealed road with stunning views of the countryside - great fun! Karen and Bruce were very friendly and welcoming, perfect hosts. We stayed in the Musterers room; just gorgeous! Very spacious spotlessly clean and decor to die for! We helped feed the sheep and pigs...

Karen and Bruce were the perfect hosts for our brief trip to Karetu Downs Farmstay, helping us find out way around the area when needed and giving us privacy too. As avid athletes, Karen was so kind to drop us into town and get us sorted with mountain bikes so that we could enjoy the vineyards and then cycle home....

Karen could not have been a more gracious host. After a barrage of travel delays, we arrived MUCH later than anticipated. She greeted us warmly and showed us to the most adorable apartment style room that we could imagine. We quickly fell asleep in the most comfortable bed either of us has ever encountered and, upon waking to the sound...

Many thanks Theodora for the awesome review. I enjoyed very much showing you around and introducing you to the farm animals. The Musterers studio appartment works well and everyone comments on the super king bed being comfortable so that was also nice that you mentioned that as well. We would welcome you guys back anytime. My husband and I made a last-minute decision to stay at Karetu Downs during a driving tour of NZ and were so very fortunate to have landed such wonderful place to visit on such short notice! Sadly we were only able to stay one night (the farm was otherwise booked) because we loved absolutely everything about Karetu Downs. The owners,...

Our stay at Karetu Downs was such an amazing experience!!! Karen and Bruce were wonderful hosts. They were so incredibly welcoming and friendly. The property itself was absolutely breathtaking, truly postcard worthy. We had so...
