We stayed at the Crown for two nights whilst doing the 3 peaks walk. The rooms were very old fashioned but clean. The Welcome pack wasn't welcoming at all it was full of unnecessary instructions telling you all the things you weren't allowed to do. The staff didn't make an effort to be friendly which was very off putting, in...

Advert at entrance to village is grander than the actual inn which is a no frills local inn. Room came with a bathroom with a large bath (just the thing after a day's walking) but no shower. Evening meal and breakfast both satisfactory- no sophisticated cooking here. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout.

We visited the Crown Hotel on Sunday afternoon. The pub was virtually empty which speaks volumes. There were numerous notices around the pub ie don't do this and don't do that which was rather over the top. We asked if we could use the beer garden and we were told it was closed? I have never heard of a beer...

The Beer Garden was closed for a reason . It had rained all night and that morning , we don't open it until the ground has dried up otherwise the garden becomes muddy with use and trails in.

I visited this Band B in April 2015. It was basic but clean. There was no shower in my room only a shower. Great if you have just hiked several miles but I had just arrived by car to start my walk and would have liked a shower in the morning. We had a meal here in the evening and...

We stayed here after attempting the 3 peaks challenge. I would say the term hotel is a bit grand for what it is, the rooms are basic no frill but have everything you need. The bar is welcoming and the staff are friendly. The food was excellent, all home made using fresh ingredients and served in a reasonable time. Given...

Had some pre stay anxiety about this place before I arrived based on reviews. They couldn't have been more misleading! I stayed for two nights with a few colleagues, it was our lace to start the 3 peaks challenge. The welcoming staff were very friendly, this is a quaint 'little' pub with a nice selection of drinks and very good...

Stayed here for the 2015 3 Peaks Race weekend. The hotel rooms are very basic and other reviews have summed up the bad points about them. Our rooms was above the bar which was quite noisy until around midnight both nights we stayed. I think the hotel must hold the world record for the most "do not do this and...

My husband and myself had a meal on sunday 19th April 2015 and it was excellent. I always find it difficult to eat out as I have so many allergies it can be very difficult. They were more than obliging to my needs, as well as pleasant and helpful. I would definately recommend it to friends and will be eating...

We hired a cottage for a week in Horton along with our friends. We had 3 dogs between us. On the first day we took a walk in the village and visited the Crown Hotel. The beer garden was closed and we were told in no uncertain terms that they didn't allow dogs anywhere on the premises. We had a...

My friends and I had an evening Meal at the crown and it was a little lacklustre. OK, so not all pub-grub should be all singing and dancing, it is what it is, but a pub that serves “Home cooked” food definitely disappoints when accompanied by oven chips! I mean, how hard is it to peel a potato really? As...
