First and only visit to this pub, barman more inerested in chatting to his friends rather than doing his job. Beer was poor quality and overpriced surrounding area of pub is shabby and tired looking, not a very nice visit.

Staff were really friendly, the food was hot and tasty. We had chips which were yummy. The decoration of the bar was quirky with stuffed animals and not to my taste, could do with updating. The loos looked new and the only modern part of the pub.

This hotel has a walkers bunkhouse in the large car park and provides affordable overnight accommodation for walkers and tourists. The large open plan bunkhouse has two floors with large bunk rooms providing double bunk beds with mattresses. You need to provide your own bedding and pillows though most people use sleeping bags.the accommodation currently cost £12 per night and...

The food was excellent as was the service particularly on our last night which was Thursday 10th November when we had a really helpful waitress & ourselves as well as our two dogs were made very welcome. We would especially recommend the curry.

Warm friendly bar with good hospitality, fire burning, steak done to order, chips hot and delicious, service excellent, the four of us were very happy. I recommend the steaks we were told it was 2 for 1 on Sundays, we wont miss that one.

We called into this pub late in the afternoon for food after touring the dales for a day out. On first impressions, the room was dark and the whole place was tired looking in need of modernizing and/or brightening up. We ordered food which we didn't have to wait to long for and it was nice enough served really hot...

We had parked in the village and completed a 6 mile circular walk climbing up to the top of Penyghent, the 3rd highest of the 3 Peaks. on a warm September day. On our return to the village we were after a well deserved pint or two of local real ale to celebrate. The Crown Inn down the road had...

Real ales were served cloudy and off. Barman was reluctant to swap and when swapped to a different ale that was also off... Pub seems run down and poorly run which is a real shame given the location at the bottom of Pen-Y-Ghent

We stopped overnight at The Golden Lion while walking the Pennine Way. The accommodation was small with very little room between the twin beds. However, the en-suite was large and airy. Friendly staff. Good beer at reasonable prices.

You'll only be here for the three peaks walk, if your not go ANYWHERE else for food. This is a basic bunk house and buffet pub. The food, imagine school dinners where quantity is paramount and is still depressingly overpriced for what it is. If you have time and want a nice meal make the effort and go else where.
