Sunny Spring afternoons are made for Ploughman's lunches, and when a friend and I stopped here for food I was hoping one might be on offer. Despite it not being on the menu, as the pub was quiet, I was soon told a cheese Ploughman's could indeed be produced. With three different types of cheese, crusty bread, pickle and a...

Arrived today for Mothering Sunday lunch. We were all greeted by the owners and staff with smiles and lovely hospitality by a lady called Jen. She looked after us and made sure we had everything we required. The carvery was delicious and cooked beautiful. This is a gem of a place and well worth a visit.

Back again for a relaxing weekend- and brought the 9 year daughter. Fantastic room (huge) which impressed the young entry (not easy these days). Lovely dinner and great breakfast. We'll be back again.

Love this place with its wooden panelling, snug seat by the window & oldy worldy feel. Guy behind the bar very welcoming & friendly. Food here was very good, lots of choice on the menu & well presented. The salad came with a delicious dressing. Prices are average but above average quality. Will def return.

Have thought a bit before writing this mixed review as the food and service was very good indeed, but it was let down by the accommodation. We had an excellent evening meal (although the lasagne I wanted wasn't available that night). I had the curry of the week and my husband had a homemade pie - all very delicious and...

A review of the pub food, not the hotel accommodation. Meeting friends for lunch on a grey and damp weekday, our spirits lifted as we were immediately greeted by the landlord and led to a table in front of a blazing log fire. The inside of the pub is traditional, warm and welcoming, an ideal place to be at this...

Nine of us sat down to Sunday lunch, having pre-booked by telephone. A warm welcome from mine host Dean, and Libby, our smiling waitress. Terrific food: starters, main course and desserts. All served piping hot, with Libby catering for our every need. Friendly service - terrific food - outstanding!

A brilliant family pub. The carvery which you can have on either a Sunday oroast Friday! Is amazing, freshly cooked, lots of choice of veg and meat. Highly recommended. The staff are lovely and friendly and are super friendly and helpful with young children. Cannot fault anything.

Stayed for one night in a Premium Double. Not sure what made it 'premium' but it was OK. Comfortable bed, quiet and clean if a little shabby. Pub food was good - good pub food. Breakfast seemed to be all deep-fried and really not so great....but ok. All things considered, it was 'ok to good'. I wouldn't go out of...
