We visit friends in Cerne and like to give them dinner here, stay overnight and then have lunch with them on Sunday. The place was full on Saturday evening so we were glad we'd booked. Matthew the chef had made some recommendations beforehand which we were pleased to take him up on. His menus are fascinating with a simple list...

A warm welcome was given to both us and our large dog! Excellent coffee and the menu looked good - sadly we were not there at the right time as the kitchen had closed. However, we made do with coffee and snacks - a very welcome break in a lovely village.

Friendly staff added to a pleasant stay for a couple of nights. Excellent food and service in the restaurant. We had to cut our trip short by one night for personal reasons and the Manager was extremely understanding and helpful.

We went for supper on a Saturday night in March. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic, welcoming, informative, jovial but most of all professional. The food was very well presented and extremely tasty with a good selection of different dishes. Wine, recommended by the waiter, complimented the food so well. We all had a really enjoyable evening in a clean and...

We drove over to this very picturesque old inn from Bridport for a celebratory lunch. The welcome was warm and the food was superb from start to finish. The restaurant on a Sunday lunchtime in February was very busy. Thinking that we might book a dine and stay next time the landlady very kindly showed us a choice of rooms...

I visited on a sunny Saturday with my Husband and our dog. We sat in the courtyard and we both thoroughly enjoyed our burgers. The lady who served us was fantastic, very welcoming and friendly. We will be returning!

Thank you Natalie for your great review. The courtyard area will be even better in the summer and we at The New Inn do hope you'll be back to soak up the sun as the weather gets better. We look forward to your return to give our now even better burgers a go. Kind regards.

We went for lunch, food OK but the service questionable, when asked for some mayonnaise, it arrived in a small Kilner jar, only to be given a knife to get it out with, so had to ask for a spoon! We all felt the 'lad' who served us, didn't really want to be there as everything seemed too much trouble....

Thank you 123neveragain, We definitely dropped the ball in a big way and can only apologise that you didn't get the great quality service we are known for. We definitely look forward to welcoming you back again and guarantee you wont get anything but the best from the team at The New Inn. Kind regards

A perfect Sunday lunch; the roast beef could not have been any better and was complimented by delicious vegetables - all perfectly cooked. Our children opted for the children's burger which was obviously home made and again perfection. All for a very reasonable price and with first class service.

Popped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon on a drive through the area. We received a warm welcome from incredibly accommodating staff. Food was delicious. Very comfortable setting and decoration. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Our meal last night was superb. Great specials . Good affordable wine list and very friendly staff . The atmosphere was welcoming . Our only comment is the fire was left to burn out at 8 PM which seemed too early for a country Inn on a cold January night . Also the cheese board is arguably a bit too...
