I stayed at the Melting Elefante for three days, Michael was the host because Marco was out of the country. The pictures seemed a bit odd but they're far from representative of the actual place. The rooms are wonderful, the people are friendly, and the sound of the waves are incredible. Every afternoon all of the surfers gather right in...

A few things we wish we would have known: 1) The single bed occupancy/ dorm price DOES NOT INCLUDE air conditioning!!!!!! We were very mis-led by this. There are fans in the room and an air conditioner but it costs $10 per night to turn on. 2) The tower and the dorms do not have a private shower. The shower...

Can't fault this place or the management. Amazing spot on the beach, clean and very well run. Mike goes out of his way to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible, and it was! Originally meant to stay 3 nights but ended up staying 7. Even for the budget conscious such as ourselves this can be made affordable.

Let's just say the location was great and the owner (fill in for real owner) is super generous, nice and has incredible knowledge about the town! The place is funky and the kitchen is very useful and majority of the time, clean! Room four is incredibly hot and does not offer air con so we moved to room five and...

Wonderful - there is nothing more to say about this hotel !!! Hotel is right on the romantic beach. Nicaragua is an amazing and wonderful place to get away from the running life. Hotel managers are amazing :)

We booked this place because of the price as we found a very affordable rate for a beachfront place! We were pleasantly surprised! We could use their fridge, their kitchen, bottled water... very unique house... very beachfront! Quiet at night- not a party house! Next door their is a hostal that is a bit more noisy at night but it...

We love Popoyo and we saw this amazing hotel once we were there. We spoiled ourselves by booking the top suite with private balcony. We can highly recommend you to do the same. Watching the sunset from your balcony with a Toña. Waking up with the sound of the waves. Reading a book on your balcony. All just lovely. It...

Rad stylish little place with a shared kitchen, surf board rentals, and a quick walk to the Popoyo beach waves. Also 1 minute away is a new small grocery store. Generally quiet, and they do not allow heavy party-ers to stay.

Beyond the obvious of Melting Elefante being a truly unique place to stay, it is a clean, quiet and well run establishment. With easy access to Popoyo main break, which can be seen from the front at a distance, you can't ask for much more. Marcos is an outstanding host, and also has the best quiver in town if your...

Great place to stay. The owner is a nice american guy. The location is perfect, 5-10 minutes walk to Popoyo Reef (best wave around) Prices are realy good for a place with sweet water for shower. (many places around have only salty water for showers and taps) The rooms are nice and clean with quality bed, sheets, etc. The house...
