Beamish Park Hotel offers a comfortable yet eclectic atmosphere, with some areas receiving criticism for being outdated. Guests commend the hotel for its cleanliness and service, often highlighting the friendly and professional staff. The rooms are appreciated for their size and tidiness, although the decor is noted as needing refreshment. While most visitors find the pricing reasonable, particularly for food and accommodation, a few consider certain aspects not to be good value. The hotel's prime location and pet-friendly provisions also contribute to its appeal.

Went for a 2 night stay here with our dog. The pet friendly rooms are on the ground floor and you can park outside the room and access it through patio doors. The room was very clean, lovely comfy super-king bed, a dressing table where you could actual sit and see through the mirror to do your hair ( so many hotels miss this essential feature). There’s plenty of storage for clothes. Bathroom had a large walk-in shower, plenty of hot water, small shampoos and body wash are provided and extra large fluffy towels. The hotel even provided a dog bed and water bowl for our fido. Breakfast was very good, best fresh fruit salad I’ve had in a long time, couldn’t fault it. They even made up a seating area just outside the restaurant where we could sit and have breakfast with the dog. The staff are brilliant, really friendly and chatty.
I had read other reviews before we arrived and armed with that knowledge, I brought my own room fan because the room does get warm, though we were fortunate enough to have a room with a small opening window and I did notice other rooms didn’t have this feature. It was also reported that the lighting in the room was very dim making it difficult to see when putting makeup on so I packed a small desk spotlight. There is a well lit bathroom mirror but that gets steamed up. Would have liked another armchair in the room, though this could make the room appear a bit cramped, it’s just that when you’re there for more than an overnight stay it’s nice to have a chair to sit in and watch tv during the day.
There is tea, coffee and biscuits provided in the room. There is a hairdryer but at 1000W it’s very underpowered, so would recommend you take your own. There is no iron in the room, so if you’re going for a wedding you might want to pack one.
To summarise: Excellent clean, comfy room, very pet friendly, great food, great staff. Just for extra comfort I’d recommend bringing a desk fan, hairdryer, desk spotlight (if you wear make-up) and possibly an iron.

Lovely friendly hotel. Quaint in its layout in that at first it reminds you of a motel☺️ But in fact it’s a really nicely appointed hotel. Cosy and welcoming.
Lovely bar and restaurant area and the food is very good.
The rooms are along a long Central corridor with rooms off either side ( hence the motel reference) but don’t let that dissuade you. The rooms are very nice, Comfy and warm. There is access from both inside and patio doors so you can park outside the room. My one and only criticism is that on using the patio access the light switch is by the door on other side of the room. Great value especially on deal
Right near to Beamish museum and a great place to explore Northumberland and Durham from. We will definitely use again.

My wife and our son stayed here to visit Beamish Museum. As always you take a bit of a gamble when booking online, but we were entirely wrong to worry.
The rooms are fresh and clean, one down side is no air con however the windows open and so it was not needed. Rooms are made up daily and the staff are very accommodating and helpful.
The restaurant and bar. Here is where this place wins. The food is some of the nicest I have ever had with a fantastic wide and varied menu. I had the Katsura curry on night one and steak on night 2 both of which were just superb.
Lovely staff, great food, and good rooms at a good price, and the Bierra Morretti went down quite well too!
Excellent place - thank you!!

Came to the hotel for a drink with my parents. We have popped in once or twice before but this visit will be our last. No welcome at the door or told where we’re we able to sit. Another customer had to get the attention of a staff member for us. Then a simple order of 2 drinks from the bar and a coffee left us waiting nearly 15minutes. Then we were presented with the drinks and a demand for payment straight away. The glass my mothers drink was in was disgusting, had lipstick on and finger prints all over the glass. My glass was placed on the tray by the staff member with his fingers on the rim of my glass. I was glad to get a straw with my drink as not just due to COVID but just common cleanliness they shouldn’t have touched that part of the glass with his bare hands. I wanted to complain but my mother decided just to make this our last visit instead of complaining where I doubt anything would have been done in rush as most members of staff were to busy talking than working.

Despite a power cut the chef coped manfully , producing the usual enjoyable meals with little disruption.

On a previous visit I had pointed out that the position of two large planted pots at the top of the staircase was giving problems of access. They were external stairs leading to the entrance. Their location made the necessary use of the handrail extremely difficult for any disabled person. Indeed on that day it was raining heavily which rendered the situation even more hazardous . Once again I queried the position of the pots and suggested that even with just a small movement access would be improved. The answer ? " We can't do that they are a feature of the hotel entrance" I pointed out that the only parking spot we could find was at the farthest end away from the entrance and by then I'd already exhausted my minimal amount of stamina . Asked why I hadn't used the disabled spaces I replied that I couldn't see any. I was then referred to an area behind a wing of the hotel and there they were....three empty bays with ramp , Obviously we weren't the only ones in ignorance of their position. There were no signs directing visitors to the disabled bays. The lady with a less than gracious answer for everything replied " You should have used the other entrance" At such moments one can only despair ! it was so annoying that all the other ingredients for a pleasant experience were present ; food, service , atmosphere all you'd expect from a decent hotel.
Perhaps the lady in question might remember the incident when she reads the business card my friend left. She advises on measures ensuring that the validation of access etc for disabled people is covered by law.

We spent 2 nights here and found every member of staff to be very friendly and polite. Could not fault anything about this hotel. Even getting into Newcastle city centre was easy and taxis were approx £15 to £18 one way. Very close to Beamish Museum. Fantastic pub opposite as well. 5 stars. Will stay again.

Stayed here as a last minute booking for a few nights to see family and local area.
Most dog friendly hotel we've stayed in staff were lovely and attentive and took special car of our dog during mela times. Treats and dog bed waiting in the room also the room has a patio door onto your own private parking space which we found very convenient for loading and unloading the car also convenient for walking the dog.
Staff in restaurant were lovely 2 dog friendly tables in the bar area for dinner plus lounge seating all dog friendly. Bacon or sausage for the dog in the morning and upon request for a small charge they made chicken breast.
Lady in restaurant on a morning was lovely couldn't do enough for you.
The young blonde girl behind reception loved our dog and remembered us in the restaurant at night and was lovely very nice to chat to and couldn't do enough for our little dog.
As this was a last minute booking I hadn't brought golf clubs for course or range but lent me some clubs for the range. Range requires own tees but good for working on short game. Never went on course so can't comment but for the range price was good basic but ok for price.
Liked the fact of having access to the car right outside but the rooms though very clean and smelt nice and tidy even for dog rooms was very clean. Just felt decor was a little dated and rooms were quite dark due to red walls and carpet and fairly dark furniture, bed was large and comfy.
That being said we would 100% stay here again perfect for our furry little girl and staff were lovely.

Excellent stay. Have used this hotel last year and did not disappoint again. Very handy having a ground floor room with the car being able to be parked right outside the patio doors. Very convenient for Beamish Museum and Gateshead/Newcastle. Also Tanfield Steam railway on the doorstep. Breakfast very good, with Covid 19 rules well in place.

Visited for Sunday lunch and was disappointed, lovely bread on the table when we sat down and the main course was lovely apart for the meat. Two of us had lamb at £14.50 each, one had chicken and the other had the trio of meats which was beef, pork and lamb. Apart from the chicken which was a chicken portion the rest of us had three small wafer thin slices cut on a machine that would not have been thick enough for a sandwich, even the trio of meats at over £16 which you would expect to be a decent portion. Sorry but would not return.

We arrived for a visit to Beemish Museum and this seemed a good choice of location/hotel. Before I expand on the experience may I say all the staff we met were perfectly friendly and we had no issues with them.

Cleanliness is however an issue, the curtains had stains of some sort I would not like guess of what! The shower is dated gets just about warm when turned full up and the shower head has seen better days. The bedroom worktop glass tops had dirt around and under them. Bin liners were not replaced the next day and the bin had rubbish in it that was not ours.

However the experience became a bit more bazar, we arrived the day before a wedding and found our room door was located in the wedding aisle, we found this such a joke at the time. We were not told a wedding was about to take place the next day or what to expect.
But the next day the bedroom door became inaccessible when we returned as the wedding was in progress so we only had the patio door to use and walk all around the perimeter to the main entrance! What if it was raining are we supposed to just get wet !!! It seemed about 2 hours before direct access from the room door to the hotel was available again.
The hotel has not got a dedicated guest bar separate from event guests so the bar was also taken over by the wedding guests so a quiet drink after pounding around Beemish all day was out of the question. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere.
The hotel website overstates the actual hotel experience for the excessive room rate and what you get .
