Dirty place to stay! Rarely if ever cleaned. Towels never changed or given any when there for extended weeks. They locked numerous guests out of the building while staying there. No water pressure to shower. No drinking water provided when can’t drink the tap water. Roy is useless and rude. Not a jewel!

Long weekend, no other properties with vacancies and not a sole there. Should be a clue! Checked into cabin while sliding through the gravel on the floor, after cleaning the bathroom that hadn’t been touched we found the last occupants cheesies and chips all over the rooms. Went to front office to confirm water was drinkable and were told absolutely not..We pressed the owner next day on posting non potable water and were told that it was in fact drinkable, but the well water may not be what us “city folk” are used to. Looking for drink glasses had us discover the last tenants cigarette buts and used tissues on a plate stored so nicely in the cupboard. Then the final straw, went to make coffee after the water discussions and the carafe still had a half pot of disgusting water, mould on top, dead bugs floating around. Stay in a tent. Don’t stay here,

Do not stay here!!!! Extremely dirty and does not look anything as advertised on the net. Our eyes throat and chest burned from cigarette smoke, pet hair, mold and dust the first and only hour we were there. There was no game room or hot tubs as stated, and the outside appearance was messy and run down looking and we had no idea we even had the right place when we arrived. The lodge is situated in front of a highway and not an open lake front area as shown on the fb page. It is no where near the lake but in front of a slough!! Extremely disappointed and mad that anyone could run an establishment like this. This place is a health hazzard!!

We booked one of the cabins through air bnb at Jewel of the north. Shortly after booking saw a review which was extremely negative and I was messaged warning me to stay away. We were tied to it and would lose a great portion of our money if we cancelled. I text the host Jay who immediately called me and said they were having problems with cleaning staff. I felt better after our conversation but was still skeptical so I thought make the best of it, pack cleaning supplies and go. Thank god I did. Upon arrival the conditions were filthy. There was mouldy coffee left in the coffee maker, floors were filled with dirt, all the appliances needed to be washed down, bathroom needed to be cleaned. My husband and I spent close to 2 hours cleaning. We did this before our son, daughter in law and 4 month old grandbaby arrived. We stuck it out for 3 days but we're happy to leave. When we checked out we were surprised that the manager Roy suddenly wanted $35 pet fee. After our stay I tried to get some kind of compensation from Jay, who I assumed was the owner as he is listed as the host and he told me his Dad, Roy manages it for him. I feel we were misled after my conversation with Jay. The cabins are rustic and in grave need of upgrades. I see this place is for sale and obviously no one seems concerned about its upkeep.
