My wife and I stayed there last Sat night. We were given a double room with attached toilet and shower. The hosts were pleasant and provided a heater . The room was clean and everything good you could expect of a country pub. At $100.00 I thought a bit pricey but still met all expectations .

I stopped at this cafe/hotel when my car started to overheat on the way to invercargill. It was the only place open in town. I asked the landlord if it was possible to get a jug of hot water from him to top up my radiator. I was asked if I had my own method of boiling water and I...

Our lunch pies were great, and good value. Hope the owners will make more of the art deco building style, which needn't cost a lot to carry through. It COULD be quaint, but ain't yet, especially if dining in the sun on the veranda. No bike racks yet, which is sign they haven't cottoned on to potential customers.

I have had a few meals here over the years, after some big days fly fishing. The meals are very nice and they also make some really nice gourmet pies. Great atmosphere in the pub - when there are a few people there (sometimes you might be the only people in the pub). Good honest great value food.

While driving towards Te Anau, we stopped here for bite to eat and were pleasantly surprised. The current Garston Hotel, built the late 1930's, has a lot of character. However this hotel has been around since 1876, there are historic photographs of the hotel hung on the walls. There are tables inside and outside where you can eat. The food...

If you want to stay a short distance away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Queenstown then this is the place! This quiet little town boasts an historic hotel that offers comfortable, clean and unique accommodation and a restaurant/cafe with food that melts in your mouth. The venison pies are the best we have ever tasted and we have...
