Thank you Hugh and Jane for looking after us so well. Splendid historical guide and talks on The Battle of Hastings. Wonderful scenery and generally it is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Would recommend it to any one.

My wife and I stayed at Appletree Cottage at the end of February for the second time and had a wonderful three nights. We were as always very well looked after, the breakfasts were great, the rooms lovely and warm and the bed was so comfortable that we really didn't want to get up in the mornings. Everything was spotlessly...

An absolutely gorgeous place that capped our once-in-a-lifetime (well, let's hope not) trip to the English countryside perfectly. From the warm welcome, helpful recommendations, cozy accommodations and traditional English breakfast to die for, I couldn't imagine a better spot to stay in the High Weald area.

Many thanks for your kind comments. It was a pleasure to have you both and we were honoured to be chosen as one of your first places to stay in England. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip to Europe and will return again soon.

We recently stayed at Appltree Cottage for a few days and were delighted with the service that we received. The bedroom was spotless and excellent, the breakfasts were superb and mine host was so helpful that he could not have done more for us plus great pubs nearby for evening meals.

Apple Tree Cottage is in such a pleasant and peaceful location, one can't help but unwind from the hurly burly! All very nice with good food, tasteful rooms and a warm welcome - we would certainly return if in the area again. It is conveniently located to visit Rye and Battle and other interesting places such as Bodium Castle, with...

Appletree Cottage is even nicer than it looks on the web. It is fairly isolated and very quiet at night. The view of the rare Sussex cattle with their calves and the undulating countryside is sublime to wake up to, even the Soay sheep in the adjoining field were acting like it was spring. It benefits from pure air being...

The cottage is nice, rooms are clean and it's in a good location. I visited recently with my girlfriend for a nice weekend in the country. I think we may have been unfortunate as they had family staying at the same time. This meant we got the twin room with the beds pushed together rather than the double. Also it...
