Visited on Nov 16 2016 and upon arrival learned that the resort had run out of gas (bit of a problem when everything including cooking and hot water depended on it) What the management did next astounded everyone. Because lunch has to be cancelled and because there were 30 odd people booked into the restaurant that night for dinner, management...

A visit here is like stepping back in time. No phone, no TV, no internet, no slot machines in the one and only pub. All there is to do is to relax and soak up the atmosphere. The village is a lovely reconstruction of old huts and shacks. Pete's Place where we stayed is an original road-mans hut in a...

I am even a bit hesitant to review, as I would like this place to remain secret! In the heart of amazing West coast wilderness, this place is for people who love nature, and appreciate magical Tassie remote West Coast, but yet want to experience it in comfort. Rooms (cottages) are great, we heard Devils arguing at night (wow), restaurant...

We arrived here after a thrilling trip down the western Explorer road. Our accommodation was a little hut up amongst the trees. Very tidy and compact but a taste of bush living. The restaurant served great meals and I had perhaps the biggest mushroom I have ever seen as a main course. Wow, it was amazing. Got quite cold at...

A lovely Inn full of wood and artefacts from its pining past. Always a warm welcome from the friendly staff; I think they like to see people as it can get a bit quiet. We camped by the river for 3 days and enjoyed the almost eerie silence. There are just over half a dozen sites to pitch tents on...

I was fortunate enough to do a Botanical Art Class with Lyndsay Watts for three days at Corinna. We stayed in the cottages which were lovely and well appointed. Being in a wilderness area and having to be self sufficient they operate with solar power and gas so you can't use your kettle or hair-dryer. The staff were lovely -...

Comfortable accommodation backing on to the southern tarkine wilderness. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing to much trouble. Ferry trip across the river was efficient. The food at the restaurant was great. Would recommend. The bed could have been a bit softer.

We stayed here with our Aussie friends, a couple who are great wildlife enthusiasts and planned a superb trip around Tasmania this October using their knowledge from previous trips. They picked this location because of the extreme isolation, surrounded only by forest, and wildlife, alongside a river. We only walked, mostly along the river bank, but if we'd had more...

Great place to visit - good food at the bar - great steak sandwich, accom was good. Good friendly staff. Lots of magic native animals to see. A little out of the way, be careful about driving at night. A great west coast experience
