Seems to be the only accommodation near the grand balloon which is open in autumn. We got a room without reservation, good 4 course dinner at the lit open chimney and typical breakfast. The hotel is charming, simple, clean and staff has a friendly personal approach.

We spend the night here during our bicycle tour through the Vosges. There are not many other hotels closeby and we reserved on forehand, fortunately, because it was pretty busy with motor cycle riders. The rooms looked like there were refurbished a short while ago and were clean and simple. The bed was short (we are both 1.85m) so stretching...

Very nice location - directly on the ski slope. We enjoyed it enomesly with a small child. Meals were tipical local cuisine, taisty and good portions. A hotel is a bit run down and in need of a face lift maybe, but it is compensating lack of modern interiure with the charm of a mountain hutvand friendly and homy athmosphere....

My husband and our two children, then 1 and 4 years old, thought of a fun week in the snow with some skiing and sledding. Not only were the ski lifts closed - I don't know why because there was plenty of snow - the hotel had failed to inform us so we traveled all the way from Belgium for...

The Manager has changed. The rooms have been renovated. The institution does not have 3 floors. We never put chairs on the table. The dog is died.10 years after, this opinion is completely unnecessary.

We arrived quite early and Le Markstein was full of people enjoying the sunshine with lots of places to eat and drink. The owner was very cheerful and helpful, boooking us a table at a nearby restaurant as there was a wedding at the hotel that evening. Our room for 3 was very small but adequate for the price.Breakfast was...

This hotel may have some atmosphere in the ski season but it was pretty dismal when we were there. The reception was brisk, bordering on unfriendly from a pert little miss. The room was small, with double bunks folded up against the wall, but just adequate. It had a gloomy outlook at the back of the building but was quiet,...

Not much in this ski town in the off season. But this location is ideal since all the other spots on the road all closed on Sunday. The dinner was fantastic, very little English spoken here but enough to book a room and share a meal. The terrace is good for a beer too.

“Enjoy dinner here. The breakfast is yummy with typical French fare and plentiful. Not many spots to eat for breakfast. Many locals driving through so stay, relax and enjoy. Rooms are clean and we overlooked the woods, very quiet.”
