7 of us walking Offas Dyke, staying here was luxury after a good walk from Monmouth (walking North to South). The owners were extremely helpful and very professional, the rooms were great, although we had no TV signal in our room, but the owner did say they were having arial problems. No mobile phone reception either but that made quite...

Loved the location of this B&B right opposite the River Wye. Loved watching the birds at the feeder from our room. Enjoyed walking in the garden and woodland behind. Huge and comfortable room. Would highly recommend

Very hospitable hosts and wonderful dinner and breakfast. Expected 4* luxury as quoted on the website but I think is was achieved by being licensed but this was bottled beers and only house red/white wine by the glass. Mobile phone signal wasn't available throughout our stay as the hotel is in a valley and TV signal was very weak too....

We have just returned from a 3 day break at The Florence and can only agree with the comments in previous reviews. Usually our short breaks in the UK are coastal ones but decided to take one in the countryside for a change and were lucky to find this one in such a beautiful setting. We had room 6 in...

A delightful hotel with lovely view, good food. very comfortable and welcoming. The hotel has a beautiful setting overlooking the river, fields and a wooded valley. The grounds also enjoy their own bluebell wood.

Just returned from a weekend away at this guest house. Agree with the other reviewers - lovely place. Great location, great views, great food and great hosts. We were walking Offas dyke path, and elected to get a taxi from The Florence on Saturday morning to the start at Sedbury Cliffs, and then walk back. It worked out perfectly. The...

Just once in a while one comes across something special in the Guest House world! And THIS is one such find....a real GEM! Like others who have reviewed The Florence we were a party of nine passing through on our Offa's Dyke walking week. As we entered through the beautifully kept gardens we were aware of some deer just watching...

There are many glowing reviews of The Florence here so I shall just add a few words... It’s in a lovely position directly overlooking the Wye, albeit with the main road in between, though it is true that the road and its traffic are not very intrusive. But it does alter the feel of the place a bit – not...

Stayed here for 3 nights on a special deal. Our room was in the cottage rather than the main building. We were in a huge loft room which had a double bed and 2 single beds in it with a couple of chairs and tea making facilities. We had our own ensuite bathroom and there was plenty of places to...

Like other reviewers, we stayed here for one night only whilst walking the Offas Dyke Path. We were a party of 5 and were all accommodated in the cottage next door. Our room was very spacious (enough for a young family) and spotlessly clean with a view over the river at the front and out and up to the woods...
