You drive from Hereford up the wooded hill. You reach the top where the trees give way to open country. And there, spread out before you is the Golden Valley, one of England's most gorgeous landscapes. Perhaps the sun is setting over the distinctive profile of Hay Bluff on the skyline. But you have forgotten that you were heading for...

Apart from the beautiful location, the quality of this B&B is truly exceptional. The owners look after their guests as if they were welcome friends. Every detail has been attended to, from the quality bed linen, well appointed bathrooms to the really outstanding breakfast. On our first night we had dinner on our arrival and were quite blown away by...

We often stay in highly-rated B&B's and Yew Tree House is certainly one of the very best. Our 3 night stay was excellent in every way: interesting old house, beautifully furnished, outstanding views and every comfort. John and Sue are so welcoming and Sue is an accomplished cook. Splendid breakfasts and we enjoyed dinner there twice-all top quality and beautifully...

We had a pleasant stay here and would not contradict any of the other good comments. I'll mention that Sue was very helpful in taking on board and responding to the dietary requirements that we asked for.

Delightful place run by a charming couple. We felt like welcome house guests, especially when we opted for dinner on the first night, and were served a well cooked and presented 3 courses, including produce from the garden. It was much nicer than our second dinner at a local pub, which was featured in the Times a couple of weeks...

We needed a chance to unwind and our stay at Yew Tree House hit the mark, Situated between Hay on Wye and Hereford it's convenient for visiting the area while providing a haven to recharge the batteries. Comfort, calm surroundings and an excellent table make this a delightful place to stay. Sue and John were excellent hosts. Highly recommended.

Some places are simply too good to share and Yew Tree House is absolutely at the top of that small and oh so select list. So keep it to yourself please, and don't tell a soul. I can't speak quite highly enough of this lovely house, with a history going back to the times of the drovers, on the edge...

Just returned home after two nights at Yew Tree House. Absolutely first class bed and breakfast. Sue and John exceptionally good and helpful hosts. Rooms and all facilities spot on. We had dinner on the first night and I have to say Sue is as good a chef as you would find in a good quality restaurant. Lovely meal. Breakfast...

We had two nights here, dinner, bed and breakfast. The house is every bit as stylish as the photos suggest and the food was delicious and worthy of a very decent restaurant. We had all the rooms and were allowed the run of the place. Our hosts were there when we needed them (to feed us!) and absent when we...

We stayed in November and could not fault anything at all. The house is beautiful, the rooms are impeccable and luxurious, the food was first class and Sue and John more than well deserve their gold rating. We were made to feel so welcome and would have no hesitation in recommending Yew Tree House.
