The staff were welcoming and helpful although we had arrived very early to change for a wedding. Our overnight stay was very comfortable and the hearty breakfast in the morning was excellent. Would stay again if in the area and recommend to others.

Visited last Sunday after a long walk around the chess valley. We ate in the bar area near a lovely open fire. I couldn't fault the service & the food was excellent, I would highly recommended this lovely hotel/restaurant/pub.

As we got here an hour early for a relatives birthday meal, I ordered a coffee for myself, a tea for my wife and pineapple juice for our son. I could not believe being charged £8.35 for a tiny cup of poor quality coffee, my wife's tea and son's juice! Disgraceful! I'd hate to think how much was being paid... More

Reviews seen prior to our 3 day stay say that this hotel is superb...well maybe but I didn't see this "super B" ...just a very good 3 star hotel with a some good points and some not so good. Essentially we booked a three day stay for the simple reason we wanted a dog friendly hotel close to our main... More

We had our wedding here and it was perfect. It looked beautiful, the food was delicious and the day ran so smoothly. It was the perfect venue for our 25 guests. The staff were really helpful, particularly Stacy who organised the day so well and made sure it looked amazing. She gave such care and attention, it really made our... More

Daughter from Australia took us there before flying back. Very quiet but it was Monday eve! Food excellent, service great, prices reasonable. Cheaper than I remember it all those years ago. What's not to like.

We have stayed here four times and have always been impressed. The welcome is genuine, and the staff helpful and happy The rooms are spotlessly clean. And attractively furnished. The hotel is beautifully situated. Breakfast was lovely (warm plates too). Thanks for a good break.

We have been to The Bedford Arms a couple of times now and every time the service and the food has been faultless. The staff are friendly and very welcoming. What a fantastic place, everyone friendly and welcoming. Especially good as staying alone. Room very comfortable with everything you would need. Stayed 1 night away with work, and will definitely be back :) Food was fantastic and had a great choice for celiacs/gluten free eaters.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Bedford Arms Hotel is situated in the village of Chenies. The Village was known as Isenhampstead until the middle of the 13th century, when it became known as Chenies from the Cheyne family who occupied the Manor until the 16th century. The hotel building dates for the most part from 1842. It was converted from a house to a hotel in the 1930's and was a small eating house and bar rather than a hotel. In 1957 the restaurant was moved to it's current position. The hotel was frequently used by the Russel family who later acquired Woburn Abbey. There are eighteen bedrooms, ten of which are individually designed and decorated in a traditional style and eight new contemporary designed bedrooms. There are two four-poster suites one with a Jacuzzi, sixteen double bedrooms including one purpose built disabled bedroom. Twin and family rooms and also a cot is available on request. The majority of bedrooms have wonderful views of either the hotel gardens or the Chiltern countryside.Room Service is available during breakfast, lunchtime and dinner. ... more   less
