We found the Hotel Santa Caterina purely by accident when we found ourselves in a house in Amalfi without air conditioning during a heatwave. What a serendipitous find!

The friendly front desk staff found accommodations for my party of eight for three non-consecutive days and four nights. Our stay involved several rooms changes, which the hotel handled for us seamlessly--moving our luggage and rollaways and setting us up in our new space without any inconvenience to us. Having had over six different rooms during our stay, I can say with some authority that there is not a bad room or a bad view at the Hotel Santa Caterina. Every room was richly appointed and every view was spectacular. Hats off to housekeeping as the rooms were spotless.

What we particularly enjoyed was the beach club. Swimming in the Tyrrhenian Sea is delightful in August! A glass elevator takes guests down the side of the mountain to a little oasis by the sea. Chairs, towels and umbrellas are provided. The food and beverage service is speedy and the seaside menu had offerings that satisfied my large group from ages 11 to 47. The hotel also provides flotation devices, snorkeling equipment and paddle boards free of charge.

Dining was a highpoint as well. Breakfast is served on a patio overlooking the water. A sumptuous buffet is accompanied by eggs prepared any style. Although I did not eat dinner at the hotel, drinks and snacks on the patio in the evening were delightful, with Pino giving me two desserts when I couldn't choose! I can't wait to go back!

As a travel agent, I've traveled all over the world, but words can hardly describe this place!! The resort is beautiful, built into a rock face overlooking the sea. Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed by the front desk staff. Our room was not yet ready, so we were offered complimentary wine (which was amazing) and we were shown around the property, including the pool area and restaurants. Our luggage was quickly handled by the wonderful bellman and from there it was pretty easy to navigate. Fresh flowers everywhere, and the walls are adorned with historical momentos.. it was wonderful just to walk around and realize you feel at home. Dining was a highpoint as well, and I found it neat that every room on property is different (not a cookie cutter property!)

Even though this is a five star property, it feels laid-back and not overly ritzy. It’s definitely worth walking around though, so you can enjoy the beauty of this place.

The breakfast spread was impressive, with something for everyone. The servers always knew how to make us feel special and always remembered our preferences. Staff was friendly and helpful in every way. There were DVDs for use at the front desk, and within 2 minutes for calling down to make my request, there was a knock at our door! Our room was cleaned morning and night which was great. The pool was warm even though it's sill early April, and we were even able to jump into the ocean and feel the salty water!

Special shout out to the hotel for providing a complimentary shuttle to and from Amalfi, at quite frequent intervals throughout the day. Another great point is the gym here, it's got beautiful views and don't let the size fool you- it literally has everything you need with it's brand new multi-purpose machines. The bed in our room was so comfortable, and clean. The water-pressure was great. I literally have no complaints.

Overall this is a great resort! I’m glad we had the chance to discover this amazing place! I will certainly be recommending this property to all of my clients interested in the Amalfi coast due to everything I mentioned above as well as the proximity to everything else in the area. We even want to spend our honeymoon here :)

THANK YOU HOTEL SANTA CATERINA- I was blown away and am very appreciative.

This is THE hotel to stay at in Amalfi, Beautiful from the front entrance, lounge, restaurant and gardens. We got lost in the incredible views from our room as well as the restaurant. The glass elevator down to the pool is incredible. The pool area is nice as was the intimate covered bar/snack area. I cannot wait to return to paradise.

So on Thursday morning I arrived in Italy, Naples. I had a transfer to a hotel called Hotel Santa Caterina
Fisciano (SA) it was beautiful from the moment I arrived until I left. When I arrived at Hotel Santa Caterina
Fisciano (SA) I was pleasantly greeted by a nice man, who happened to be the owner. He showed me to my room, and gave me everything I needed. I forgot my toothbrush so he provided free of charge (which he didn't have to do) later that evening I went for dinner, the service was great and the food was delicious. I had fish , it was the best fish I had ever tasted. The owner than came to me and said would you like to try some of my families home made wine. Which I did and was also the best wine I had ever tasted. The meal was lovely from start to finish and was looked after like one of the family when I was just a normal person coming to Italy. After dinner I went to my room, the room was lovely, cozy and most of all very clean! I had a very good nights sleep. In the morning I went for breakfast and was greeted by the owner again. I was shocked to see the owner as much as I did. As I saw him at 11:00pm at night and back at 7:00am in the morning.
My stay in Italy was perfect and couldn't of gone any better. The hotel made my holiday so much better than anywhere else I have ever stayed. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Italy, Salerno. Grazi Millie !!!!!

If romance still titillates like an unknown factor, than jot this place as tryst-worthy.. The setting alone will set off the longing like a violin string. the view from the dining room and terrace is swoon worthy with vines climbing over arches that frame the sweeping ocean . The blue - streaked marble floor is simply stunning as are the dishes that interpret the classic Amalfi coast fare. If doing it in style is epicentre to your psyche, this is the ultimate experience

This hotel surpassed all my expectations. From the room, service, food, spa, beach club area and excursion options, we couldn't have been happier with Hotel Santa Caterina.
We came for our honeymoon and fell in love with this property and all that it has to offer. We will be back! The views were unbelievable and the accommodations were unreal. The food was fresh from the onsite gardens and the Chef created amazing dishes in all the restaurants. The service staff was knowledgeable and more than accommodating with everything we brought to them.

My wife and I stayed one night at the Santa Caterina... we were in the area to attend a saqra in Gaiano, a couple of kilometers away, and to enjoy a bit of the local nightlife afterward.
The price was quite attractive. The room was nothing fancy, but quite comfortable. We tested the air conditioning in the afternoon when we checked in, but the evening was mild, so we opened the window and slept without it. There's a bit of noise from the pub across the street, but nothing excessive... if you're a light sleeper, just close the window and turn on the air. WiFi was good, even though we weren't in the main building. Breakfast (included) covered the standard "continental" gamut of cereal, fruit, yogurt, pastry, cold cuts, cheese, juice and coffee, and everything we had was fresh and tasty.
Above all, the staff was courteous and accommodating. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
The Santa Caterina is just a block from the university campus, and is walking distance from numerous restaurants, cafes and pubs.
I've heard good things about their restaurant as well, but that will have to wait for another visit...

Starting with Concierge GENARO - the most friendly and helpful Concierge I've come across in a long time, the hotel itself is breathtaking - overlooking the Amalfi Coast - it has fantastic varandas, great restaurant, superb breakfast buffet and and nicest / most helpful / always attentive staff that knows each guest by their names at all times. As I spent my Bday in Amalfi, my wife surprised me along with waiters with a great cake, candles and a HAPPY BDAY singing which had real emotion! Italians are "simpáticos", the staff at hotel are "extra simpáticos"!
As we were going to Capri afterwards for a few days, GENARO suggested and arranged a 38' (2 engine boat) which took us for an extremely agreeable tour along the coast, lunch and then across to Capri with a quick stopover at the BLUE GROTTO (always crowded).
HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! SUPERB!

Staying at this hotel was literally a dream come true. You can tell that the staff is dedicated to providing you with the best experience possible focusing on every minute detail to make your stay pleasant and perfect. From each and every staff member saying good morning as you pass to the way they lay out your pajamas in the evening, it was full of moments that only made Italy seem more magical. I would go back to this hotel again and again and again!!!

Cozy place in picturesque location. The room has classic design and has everything one would need. Friendly staff and good restaurant. Typical Italian breakfast, so if you have special diet, you should talk to them. In general - loved it and would definitely come back :)
