Just a wonderful place right by the perfect beach and a very nice staff. Thank you Daan !!! All the houses are different, we stayed at the root house and at the dream house and liked them both very much. The wood work is just so different and pretty, the houses were both very cute, well equipped and comfortable. We...

Beautiful setting, beautiful beach, animals everywhere! Couldn't ask for more. Plan to get up early though....the howler monkeys will make sure of it! The resident dogs and cats are sweet and the staff friendly. The lodging is very cool-- we stayed at the River House. Deck overlooks the jungle, also small patio downstairs is very pleasant for bird and monkey-...

Wow! We owe the Congo Bongo such a huge thank you for making our dream wedding in Manzanillo a reality. From our first contact and all the way through until we said our final goodbyes, Daan, family, and staff ensured every detail of our week-long stay was perfect! Our idea was simple. Invite all of our 30 wedding guests on...

Wow, we loved it here! The owner and his family are so friendly and helpful. Anything you want they go out of their way to get it for you. Laundry service was great although nothing ever really dries completely in the rain forest. Even our Passports curled in the dampness! We had a really cool house cat at the River...

Congo Bongo is a great place if you're really up for living in the jungle! This means hearing howler monkeys, insects and birds all night and being comfortable with all the animals and insects in the jungle. If you are not comfortable living with bugs, lizards, etc., this may not be for you. I loved our friendly chicken visitors every...

We stayed in the river house in September 2012. We loved the house, especially the setting. The grounds here and the work that is done to keep up the environment is astounding. We were treated very nicely by the owner and his family, and we were very thankful for the convenient laundry service. Congo Bongo could market itself as a...

Congo Bongo is a beautiful rustic retreat located in the jungle with a private walkway that leads to a pristine and secluded white sand beach. It was the perfect setting for our family's annual vacation, we couldn't have been happier with our experience. Daan and his generous family made us feel right at home and cooked us delicious family style...

This property is aging. You have to be comfortable with insects to feel ok about staying here as they are everywhere. Without a/c summer sleeping is clammy and sticky. The room fan was covered with grit but using it was essential. The outdoor fridge needed to be replaced as its exterior was showing its age and proximity to the ocean....
