Returned for a short break after fond memories of the Forest many years ago - and a visit to the White Buck. Lovely setting, good food and beer. The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and is typical country house in its approach. Hard to fault with the exception of the room, which was not what we asked for. Our...

Dear Philip H, Thank you for your feedback, all of our indulgence rooms are located above reception area or bar area due to the old country house layout. I am very glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. Best Wishes Martin Sliva General Manager

We spent the night at this hotel in early October and had a pleasant stay. The rooms are well appointed with robes, slippers and a nice rustic feel to the rooms. The lobby has a classic smokey fireplace smell to it that adds to the character. We really enjoyed the ambiance of the whole hotel and the breakfast was very...

Not cheap but very enjoyable, close to walks but out of season driving to the local village is best as no lighting for walking. Food excellent but limited, and fairly expensive. Rooms (ours anyway) fine for a short stay and would come again

Excellent location very friendly staff can be a little noisy in the rooms as squeaky floor boards outside the bedrooms. Not keen on doors to bathroom as they have frosted plastic doors and a gap in the middle I would like a different room next time as we have had th same room twice although I did request not to...

Excellent room, excellent food and nice atmosphere generally. Facilities in room were better than some more exclusive hotels, so very pleasant. Would recommend staying here to enjoy the new forest, and you are only a short walk to Burley.

We stayed on a Monday night for a one night get away, spent the day out walking and timed it with our check in at 3pm. Very impressed with our room, there were some homemade biscuits for us and also some dog treats and a water bowl for our dog who was staying with us. The room was beautifully decorated...

Excellent location, cosy room! Food was expensive, tasteless, cold and boring. Great walks, nice indulgeance room, although shower floods. I would go back for a Sunday roast as that was lovely when I ate there back in early September!
