We were a group of 8, and had reserved a table for Sunday lunch. The building is beautiful, the food was excellent, at very reasonable prices - but the SERVICE - that was outstanding. What friendly people! HOWEVER - do NOT follow the map on the back of the menu, which isn't clear..... a two hour walk was a tad...

We have eaten there several times, because it is a pub with a good vegetarian menu and very cosy with lovely log fire. In the summer it gets packed with tourists and service is often slow but in the winter it is fine, if you want the Special Board best to go when main chef is there (traditional eating hours)...

Visited here quite a few times over last 3 months. Very warm welcome from all bar staff and very inviting. Have tried a few meals now on the menu and have to say I have never been disappointed. The meals are well presented and served by very well mannered staff. The meals come out hot and very quick on service....

Once again we arranged our annual family winter get together in this gorgeous pub.. There are 24 of us now including children and a dog so a daunting task but not for Freya and the team. We have had the most fantastic afternoon and cannot recommend this pub highly enough. Organising it was easy and every single menu request was...

First meal here and very impressed, popped in the day before for a drink and liked the look of the menu so thought we'd try it. Fun, friendly staff (despite being busy!) The food was cooked to order so enjoyed watching the other tantilising meals coming out before we were served. The presentation, taste and value for money will ensure...

Popped in for lunch during forest walk - and would certainly recommend this pleasant pub The beer ( flacks ) was good and the lunch choice included an excellent cod on boston beans - very tasty - our friends also enjoyed the duck. Friendly service and an allround good time

Second time we have been here, not disappointed, staff are very accommodating and lovely. The Inn itself is has such a nice atmosphere, the only minor problem is the parking as it is so popular but we were able to park in road.

I emailed the pub on the 23rd October to discuss the problems we had but have not had a reply back over 2 weeks ago.Delightful setting friendly staff. My husband ordered a tuna mayonnaise sandwich the waitress said it had a lot of mayonnaise in it. After the second bit the sandwich the filling was running onto the plate and...

Lovely setting with most helpful staff. Food was delicious, with a very extensive menu all freshly cooked with large portions. Make sure you have a dessert. The Eton Mess is gorgeous! Will definatley be back. The pub is also dog friendly with good walks to go on from the pub.

We had friends camping in the New Forest and as we didn't have a tent we booked the hotel to meet up with them. We booked a family room (2 adults and 2 children) and whilst it was cosy, it was lovely and comfortable with a great breakfast, English with all the trimmings. I would highly recommend the hotel. Oh...
