We stopped here for lunch when driving through the New Forest and were very impressed by the service, choice and quality of food. In a great location too, with the forest on the doorstep. As we drove into the village we were met with donkeys roaming the streets which was lovely to see!

The food was brilliant, nice price and good portions. Very fresh and locally sourced. There was a good selection of local beers and ciders for everyone to enjoy, CAMRA would be happy though. We took our 2 year old and we were looked after really well. Family friendly with dogs welcome too. Even if you are staying the other side...

We stayed for 2 nights and found our room lovely. We stayed in room 4 which has a separate bathroom but that was no issue at all. Lovely powerful shower, did the job. The only thing I didn't love was being on the pub front, you could hear everything, even someone coming home at 2.30. Was no issue to us...

After a long day walking in the forest this was the perfect pub to finish our day. The beer and wine were good. The food was superb, as were the very busy staff. At the end of the evening the landlady took time out to chat to us.

We enjoyed a really nice meal here with friends. We booked for Sunday lunch at 2 pm but unfortunately the waitress who showed us to our seats omitted to tell us to order at the bar when we were ready. We thought it was waitress service! After chatting for half an hour we decided it was time to look for...
