Pilgrims Rest, a Bed & Breakfast establishment in the historic village of Little Walsingham, Norfolk, is a wonderful home from home.

The en-suite rooms are large, airy, and immaculately clean. The beds are very comfortable, made up with fresh white linens, fluffy duvets, and plenty of pillows. There is a flat screen TV in each bedroom, along with a kettle for tea and coffee, and a hair dryer. The wi-fi is excellent and the lighting very good indeed.

The breakfast available was fantastic, with endless choices. I started with porridge and fresh fruit, followed by a cooked breakfast of tomatoes, eggs, bacon, sausage, fried bread, toast, and coffee. Other popular breakfast items, like beans and mushrooms were available. Absolutely delicious!

Covid 19 protective requirements are fully instituted at Pilgrims Rest.

Free parking is provided.

Hosts Wendy and John are most hospitable and gracious. Upon arrival, Wendy welcomed me most warmly, complete with a cup of tea and a muffin.

I will certainly be staying at Pilgrims Rest again. It is superb.

Ideally situated in the centre of Walsingham, Wendy and John made us feel very welcome. We were greeted on arrival with a refreshing cup of tea in their beautiful garden. Wendy has many years experience of running a bed and breakfast and it showed. We had a lovely room and breakfast was also excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this place if visiting the area.

We have stayed here twice now. John and Wendy are very welcoming and friendly people making you feel like old friends, they go the extra mile for you.

Having stayed at numerous hotels etc we found the rooms here are very well appointed exceptionally clean and tidy and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast is second to none.

All in all a good place to stay with great hosts well worth the money

I stayed 4-nights at The Pilgrim's Rest Guest House (B&B) in Walsingham and from the moment I arrived I couldn't have wished for a more enjoyable stay! Wendy and John are exceptional hosts who have a deep care about their guests and take huge pride in what they do.

The house itself is around 600 years old and is right in the heart of the village just moments away from the Abbey grounds, the Shrines, the Anglican Church - its all on the doorstep. And if you're not there for the spiritual aspects of Walsingham you'll find the village is close to all the other delights North Norfolk has to offer - from amazing nature / bird reserves, incredible beaches and fab tea houses and delicious farm food!

This was my first trip to this area and its a great place to unwind and get away from city life. And if you're coming by car then Pilgrim's Rest offers a rarity in Walsingham - you get a parking space!

What really struck me during my stay is the attention to detail and delight that Wendy and John get from looking after their guests. You can tell this is their 'purpose' and that they are passionate about what they do.

The rooms are exceptionally clean. The linen is crisp, fresh, feels lovely and smells nice! There are fresh flowers in all the rooms. Guests are offered herbal teas and biscuits and fresh milk (as well as the usual tea and coffee trays) and the breakfast is truly exceptional! John is a great cook and you can taste the love (at least that's what I told myself after four morning's justification of a full English breakfast!) and there is fresh fruit, cereal, toast..... It's a great breakfast!

I realise I am raving - and you might wonder what I'm on! I guess I have stayed in so many places where you aren't made to feel special - or you have a perfunctory host. I wouldn't even bother writing a review normally. I was just amazed by how Wendy & John always anticipated my needs and were always thinking about my comfort! Another thing I nearly forgot to mention is their incredible garden, and the lovely Gazebo where you can eat breakfast if its a fine morning! Oh yeah, and the unbelievable bird life!

John particularly has a love of birds and he encourages them in the garden and as a result I was able to watch a french partridge, a woodpecker, a family of blackbirds, a housemartin, wood pigeons, gold finches..... I sat in the garden with my camera just loving the peace, tranquility and the abundance of things to look at!

I hope to get back again before the summer is over (and once I've shed a few pounds) so I can enjoy another full English breakfast under the Gazebo - pure heaven!

Summing up I would say this is a traditional English B&B with warm, friendly owners and if you like a 'home away from home' feeling then this is the place for you!

This is without doubt one of the best B & B's ever. We have stayed here on many occasions and it is always excellent - it starts when you arrive, the accomodation is spotlessly clean, the rooms are a good size and the bedding and towels are first rate. There is a wide choice at Breakfast and it is all excellent.

I would thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay for almost any occasion - we have already booked our next stay.

I stayed at the Pilgrims Rest a couple of weeks ago. It is one of the best and most comfortable B& bs I've stayed in. A great reception from Wendy & John, spotlessly clean, good sized rooms, comfortable beds with good quality sheets on them and a great English breakfast....what more could you want? I can't think of anything

Room Tip: The building is very old so some of the floors slope quite steeply. It is best to work this out...

We stayed for two nights at this beautiful house set in the heart of Little Walsingham. John and Wendy were the perfect hosts. On arriving we were greeted warmly and given a cup of tea with homemade cakes in the Gazebo in their garden, surrounded by beautiful flowers and shrubs. Our rooms were spacious, comfortable, both had en suite bathrooms and there were freshly cut flowers on the dressing table. The breakfasts were fantastic and catered for all tastes. You can also book an evening meal if you want to but we were travelling around and tended to eat later on over the road at the Bull Inn which served very nice food. Thank you to John and Wendy for making our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed here for a few nights (actually we stayed in June 2010 but the system wouldn't let me enter June 2010) and were glad it was no longer than that. We had booked a room with superking bed but this turned out to be a 5 foot Kingsize bed. I don't think the owner knew the difference. 12 inches makes all the difference!

The bedroom was advertised as ensuite which technically it was - however the shower was in fact a cubicle ( think portaloo) set into the wall. You stepped straight out into the bedroom and was sooooo claustrophobic.

Breakfast was a disappointment too. I noticed that some of the yoghurts out were past their sell by date. I am very particular about not eating out of date food (these were out of date by several days not just one or two.)

The house itself is in a fantastic position in the village and must be the best selling point. You are literally in the village centre with east parking behind the house.

Walsingham itself is a delightful village and well worth a visit whether you are a pilgrim or not.

Thanks to Wendy and John for the lovely 2 night stay. The beds were nice and comfortable and the breakfast was very tasty - I particularly liked the vegetarian sausage option. The tea and cake on arrival was a lovely touch. Free private parking behind the house was also appreciated. I would highly recommend this B&B if you're staying in or around Walsingham. During our stay we enjoyed dinner at the two pubs in the town (Black Lion Hotel and The Bull Inn) – both had very good food.

I would have to say no - given that the building is medieval in origin, there are many quirky levels associated with it. However, a call to the owners would clarify how they might be able to help - or even recommend any other local place for you to stay at.
