Detailed Reviews
The property is beutiful and the house magnificent.
The hosts were amazing and even through the storms that was going on and flooding tried to make sure we were looked after. It is a bit sad that the room I slept in curtains were really old and tacky and not really something one will expect in such an establishment. Even some of the chairs in the one seating area is ripped and really not leaving a great impression on money spent on up keep to make sure the majestic house is served by ensuring couches and curtains are replaced when not in a good state. This is such an amazing venue but it needs some fixing . The host and hostess was really great in making us feel welcome and ensuring we were kept in the loop with the light and water outage due to the flooding. The room is rated low due to the curtains that should have been replace a long long time ago.

Our room was not as nice as the venue and view itself. Our towels had holes in and bedding was stained. perhaps a bit more "décor" in the room will make it feel more relaxing and comfortable. The only thing in the room that added some color was the lovely scatter cushions.

Kearsney Manor is a beautifully restored old country estate. Great for a relaxing break taking you back in time. The relaxed and private environment and easy pace was just what we were looking for. We also enjoyed running in the surrounding sugar cane fields and the history of the adjacent chapel and cemetery. Well worth a visit - although the parrots were a tad noisy! We used a discount voucher making our stay very good value for money.

We arrived and drove up the driveway to see the most incredible house in front of us and we were so excited for our stay. We booked 2 rooms and they really looked lovely on arrival. We also spent the afternoon in the pool which is a great amenity to have in that heat.
Unfortunately the rest of our stay was not great
Room 1 - The single bed was filthy and the duvet cover had blood on it, the sheet was also dirty and had not been changed before we arrived. The main bed is in a terrible state and all lumpy.
They really had the most uncomfortable night and it was such a pity as we really loved the Manor.
My room was great and very comfortable, but my sister and niece had a horrible night
I would also suggest that maybe you could mention to guests that book that you can arrange dinner if they need. We didnt realise that we had to order in advance and after being in the car the whole day it would have been so nice just to have a lovely dinner on the balcony
Load shedding preparation would also be nice, we stayed in a few places during this road trip and they all had torches or load shedding lights so we could at least see around in the evening
I did send an email to them on the 18th of December letting them know about our stay and have still not had a response. it is unfortunate as that home is something i would love to have spent more time in or visited again but i dont think we would take that chance again

To find the property took me a while as my Google maps did not work due to the lack of battery power
The stay was very good except for the load shedding which occur when you need it the most. We can live with that and know that the generator got damaged due to flooding. Otherwise, I enjoyed staying there and the company was very good as well.

What a pleasant surprise to find this jewel just outside of Kwadukuza (Stanger). One of the most magnificent 19th century homes built in SA in beautiful gardens with expansive views and vistas. Well worth a visit for anyone interested in staying in a place from a more elegant time.

If you want peace and serenity go to Kearsney Manor! My stay was short but amazing. The place is clean and beautiful. The host is very welcoming. You feel at home. The wifi is not really great but if you come with a partner it doesn’t matter :)

The house and the surrounding estate is beautiful. It really takes you back to an earlier time with authentic pieces and architecture and so much history. The staff were helpful and friendly. The place does need attention to detail though, some flowerpots have become ashtrays, beautiful verandahs attached to the rooms have become piled up with bird waste, so much so that I did not want to walk out onto our verandah and its such a pity because with some cleaning and a couple of pieces of furniture there it will add so much value. That definitely detracted from the experience.

The place and environment is lovely however the service is poor. I had no shower gel for the duration of my stay just empty shower gel and shampoo containers in the shower. Towels are not changed which does not make sense why not. Bed sheet are also not changed. For 3 nights and 3 days we were using the same towels and bedding. Mind you it was blistering hot during those days and nights. Lastly i cant understand how a four star establishment does not have a television set in each bedroom. With all these concerns i don not understand how this establishment is a four star

A stately "old lady" with much history. The hotel is off the beaten track but well worth the visit with awesome views over the Natal sugar cane fields and hillside. The rooms are comfortably furnished although the bathrooms have been updated and miss the "antique flair". The dinner offered is a plated dinner with no starter or dessert which was a bit of let down as in my mind I was expecting something that fitted the history.
